Re: What’s sound projection source you using?

Whatever you do, be careful using guitar amps. The speaker cones are made of paper usually and can rip from loud bass frequencies or dc offset, lfo's etc. Many people have destroyed amps/cabs this way Most woofers still use paper cones, the real problem is a guitar amp wouldn't have the same protec...

Re: Intellijel Quad VCA or Behringer 130 Dual VCA (x2)?

The 3 channel mixers on the Bohland VCAs is super handy, love them on my Rolekko 500s... but given the module would be one of the most frequently patched, and the Behringer jacks aren’t affixed to the front panel, I’d be wary of their long-term durability

Re: Arturia Rackbrute power

This would also have the advantage of being 4HP instead of the rather odd 5HP of the standard Arturia one. What is odd about a 5HP module, besides it not being even? Don't forget, the case is 89HP wide, so if you go to a 4HP module you'll need to add a 1HP blank or have an odd HP module elsewhere i...

Re: Vertical or horizontal? The ergonomics of modular:

Take advantage of one of the main features of a modular - voltage control. Most modules have CV inputs for their main controls. Start making a controller-only skiff to sit in front of your rig . The advantages are that you can learn these controls and then sit it in front of most any rig and after ...

Re: Case Wiring, two Meanwell RT-65B

Ahh great timing, I have this thread and images saved for reference - about to rebuild a 4x 104 case with 2x RT65Bs. I will be using dummy loads for now, and also considering a low noise fan. Some great advice regarding the -12V, which is interesting considering other posts say it "borrows" capacity...

Re: scaling /zooming and does x y panning

I believe any sort of zoom/position of video requires a "frame buffer" where the entire frame is captured digitally and manipulated. Maybe Korg KPE would be a hands-on, ableit dated, unit to look at. I'd like to corrected, but don't believe it can be achieved in the analog domain... Chromagnon's for...

Re: Unpowered, without rails travel cases

I remember going to a sandwich shop to order lunch, and a workmate asked if he could buy 3 slices of tomato so he could put them on a sandwich he made at home. They told him they sell sandwiches, not groceries, and he tried to convince them that a tomato is only worth a dollar so a few slices should...

I'm the least creative when at a computer :hit:
Different people use different tools in different ways...

Maybe it is confirmation bias, but I've noticed plenty of high profile musicians talk about imposing limitations to keep their creativity focused.

Re: Help Choosing first semi modular. First synth as well!

Neutron, for sure... yes, it can get gnarly fairly quickly but learning to tame it will teach you a bit too -mainly to be restrained and purposeful.
If you do see yourself venturing to full euro, the Neutron has a lot of potential to expand on (with extra utilities and modation)

Re: LZX Cyclops - EuroRack Laser Projector Interface Module

A-132 is just a VCA, so it'd be controlled amplitude of the signal (in this case, perhaps how narrow/wide the image is) A-143-9 alone will draw a circle, by taking the sine and cosine signals Add a few more of each together (preferably add a 4Q multiplier too) and you can start getting interesting s...
