Re: I'm sorry, really, but I'd like your opinions re QPAS or Stereo Dipole or Parallax

I have to say that the best sounding dual filter I've ever played with was the Vermona twinVCFilter. Veeery vintage-sounding, for lack of a better description. For the limited amount of control you get, it's huge though, especially compared to the Dipole, which gives you way more flexibility in a mu...

Re: Something new from Make Noise coming?

dear Make Noise: I have a shared system and a skiff full of your modules. I like them. now you made something very cool that I wish I could put into the skiff as a replacement for 2 pressure points and a brains, but you had to go and make it non-eurorack. so... no money for you. I feel you. This th...

Re: Superbooth 20 Home Edition

Few analog modules are so big like that one, besides maybe function generators, complex oscillators or filter banks. From the lack of faders it doesn't really look like a filter bank, but could be a complex osc or function generator. Or some kind of mixing console? Or I'm completely wrong. He also ...

Re: Superbooth 20 Home Edition

I don’t know if, when or what Joranalogue will announce, but Joran posted this photo of his workbench a few days back, and there appears to be an unusually large module on it. yeah that's definitely a new one. It also had a little appearance in a short-lived Instagram story of theirs, which showed ...

They introduced a new module like a week ago, so they're definitely still running. Maybe they're all working from home though at the moment which might slow things down, so just give it some time, they've always reliably answered my emails.

Re: Modules for creating envelope follower (for guitar pedal type FX)?

A slew limiter is probably your most flexible option. If you want to create gates too, I'd suggest going for the classic Joranalogue combination aka a Contour 1 + a Compare 2. Thanks, could you tell me what the Compare 2 would add to the functionality of the Contour 1, specifically with reference t...

Re: incompatible voltage ratings between modules

lots of good and diverse points here, thanks for all your replies. I guess it's always a good mindset to see little quirks and inconsistencies like these as being potentially beneficial to creative patching. Part of the wonder of Eurorack for me is stumbling upon things that I couldn't have imagined...

Re: incompatible voltage ratings between modules

and to the OP, attenuation is never a waste of space. youre playing a musical instrument, does your intonation not matter to you? Waste of space wasn't the right way to put it, more a waste of resources if I have to dedicate a channel of attenuation to an envelope every time I use it. Of course the...

Re: incompatible voltage ratings between modules

Not ignorant at all! It’s among the key questions in this format. WMD MMVCA might also be very helpful for your needs. It can do ring mod, as it works with dc as well (can crossfade dc too). Never had problems with any of the envelopes opening it. This and Intellijel Quad are my best vca’s. Intelli...

Re: incompatible voltage ratings between modules

All modules are compatible. You won’t damage a module by another one. Almost every euro module nowadays comes with attenuators, so there’s no problem with voltages either. It’s more about how you understand and perceive a system from philosophic, ergonomic, scientific or any other perspective. Some...

incompatible voltage ratings between modules

As we've all surely come to realize, there are no real standards in the Eurorack world. That principle seems to be especially true – and equally inconvenient – for envelope/function generators and VCAs. Some envelopes reach an 8V or 10V peak, while some VCAs are fully opened with 5V, or vice-versa. ...

I think ADDAC continuously produce the best looking modules, especially in black or silver, not a fan of the red ones either. They somehow manage to make them look both extremely classy and uncompromisingly utilitarian at the same time. Using them makes me feel like I actually perform important manu...
