Disting EX fw1.5 and calibration

i just flashed the 1.5 firmware. even though the module does not give an error message, the CV calibration is totally off again. It's very annoying i have to recalibrate the unit so often. It also seems to do the warbling/distorting a lot more than before. it even does it when played via midi. Doesn...

Question to planar2 users: does the joystick retain it's position when mounted in a classic vertical doepfer case position? or will it droop down?

Re: Casper/Bastl Ikarie Stereo Filter

I like the idea of playing the filter with one hand, and the diagonal fader. Some nice out-of-the-box thinking there. It does have a Qpas-ish character, even more so when you use the envelope follower via the mod. A quirky pronounced character, but can be clean and surgical at lower settings. The 24...

Re: Organic drums?

I finally got my hands on a Rabid Elephant Natural gate, and it's amazing for everything percussive and acoustic. The way it behaves on fast rolls is exactly the way an acoustic drum does. none of that static machine gun character. I set it up with the Synthesis technology E352 wavetable oscillator,...

Re: Nastiest ring-mod module for that Star Wars comms-distortion effect?

Don't forget experimenting with audiorate sample and hold. Gives nice crunchy bitrate reduction style character. Warps' parasites firmware pitchshifter also always reminds me of the Hoth transmissions. There's a clouds parasites algorythm that uses some kind of FFT morphing, spectral madness. That c...

Re: Adding warmth / saturation / crud

+1 for Tanh, love it. It can have a significant effect yet still be subtle and not totally change the input material. Instruo's filters all have really nice input overdrive circuits. The traigh is a standard ladder filter, but it has three inputs with sliders that drive over 50 percent. love using t...

Re: Moog CP251s: Keep or sell to buy modular LFOs?

i have a bunch of moogerfooger pedals and the cp251. While it's handy for adding an extra lfo, noise and modulation to pedals and synths via the expression pedal input, i'm not using it as much since i got into eurorack. I also noticed the big increase in used prices, and i have put it up for sale a...

Re: Jove vs Instruo i-o47?

i have the Jove, Filter 8 and io47. All very different, all great. The instruo is super versatile, has a distinct character that fits the oomphy/punchy description. Jove is sweeter, lovely for delicate stuff, and the io47 is more in your face and great for bass. the resonance is a non-issue, if you ...

Re: Joranalogue FOLD 6 - Multi-Topology Wavefolder

Ultrafold, Bastl TImber, Wave Multiplers The Serge Wave Multiplier? If it's cleaner than the Serge, I want one. Wave Multiplier is buttery smooth, it feels so different to most other wavefolders i wouldn't even classify it as the same type of module. Thinking of complementing it with a fold6. Bastl...

the vca/amplifiers in scan&pan are said to be very nice, apaarently they have a gorgeous drive. It's allready great just as a driving mixer. Haven't tried a square lfo. Can try it tomorrow. Don't remember hearing clicks occuring when modulating. No idea about the pot either, but i do know the R*S modules are not designed for the high voltages a lot of recent modules provide. You can tell by the big change of the value (compare the amount...

bit of a list-every-module question, but i'll bite Favourite oscillators: (neither is traditionally a complex oscillator, but they can generate almost more variety of interesting tones than a classic CO) 1. Re: Experience with the Disting EX? Is it fun?

i like it a lot. and i think it is pretty intuitive. there's a general simple workflow for navigating, and it's not that deep. you just get a list of settings and parameters you can adjust incrementally, or jump through quickly with the other knob. i've honestly mostly used the sampler side of it, a...

AUTOREC folders are not seen by disting, also it seems a bit random as to which folders it will show, and which not. Could it be i have too many? I certainly have more than a 100. It seems to retain the ones that were on there the longest, but not find new ones. Can i do like a rescan somehow? *EDIT...

make sure you have the correct midi channel settings on both the disting and midi device. My minitaur led will flash when it's getting midi but not play notes unless midi channels match. Obvious maybe, but it'd be good to rule out. If possible set midi channel to ALL

Aand now the calibration data is gone? i'll recalibrate it again tomorrow.

Another strange thing: i renamed one of the autosample folders to a different title, and it doesn't show up in the list. If i copy the files into a folder that was previously recognised, it does find the samples.

Re: DISTING EX _ DEEP AUTOSAMPLING BUG?

i also noticed there is slight distortion/coloration when i send too loud a signal into the Disting, way before the display indicator shows clipping. I can't get past halfway before a pure sine develops overtones. Also, any amount of raising the input gain setting also creates overtones. This is bei...

DISTING EX _ DEEP AUTOSAMPLING BUG?

I already posted this in feature requests as said there seem to be some bugs with high sample count in autosampling and extended wait times between as triggers. Re: Sequencing Eurorack from Ableton Live

If your interface has an adat connection, you can also use the ES3 to have 8 CV or audio channels into the rack. I've been using this with live 10 CV tools, works great, and much tighter than midi. I really don't feel the need for a lot of sequencers in the rack itself, with max4live and ableton's c...

Re: Verbos Harmonic Oscillator Buzzy Sines

I love the noisy sines! Gives a filter something to shape and chew on, as opposed to a pure sine. Really disagree with the previous statement as well. If you keep individual sliders low, the noise is less pronounced. Also, sliders, tilt, span and width all work cumulative. So if for example the swee...
