An lfo you can’t change the speed of?! What if you need it just a certain speed and it just misses it. I don’t think my head could cope with that :woah: I love the idea of it but at the Same time also can’t understand the idea of it! You can change Ochd's speed, both manually and by CV. It's just t...

Re: How to best achieve „custom“ clock divisions

Still, am I right to believe that „3/4 multiplication“ cannot be handled entirely within pams (without changing the master clock), but one of the operations involved (ideally, the division as you explained) must be outsourced ? I don't actually own Pam's, but from reading the manual it seems that y...

I rather like them, there's a punk couldn't give a fuck attitude in there, but it's overshadowed by constant internal dialogue along the lines of "tsk, your neck vertebrae will be knackered 30 years from now, mine are..." If they're anything like most people in that generation, they don't even beli...

Re: How to best achieve „custom“ clock divisions

To me, the most „obvious“ way is to send a /m divided clock out to a x n multiplier. Is this actually the standard way to achieve n/m divisions ? No, it's more sensible to go the other way round - get a x3 clock from Pam's and run it to the kick through a divider which you can change from /3 to /4 ...

Re: Quadrax Krell

The first thing to try would probably be to patch your S&H input to CV A, your S&H trigger to Ch. 1, set it to AD mode with Rise fully CCW, Fall and Shape fully CW, and map CV A to Ch.1 Level. Whether this would actually work depends on whether Quadrax' CV inputs are the kind which are sampled conti...

Re: Is Divkid øchd the best Batumi alternative in less HP?

Ochd is wobbly uneven mismatched glorious modulating LFOs that modulate each other and wobble organically about all over. I think that could be misinterpreted. Unless I'm mistaken the triangle LFOs in OCHD are not uneven or wobbly and they don't modulate each other, or wobble organically. They are ...

Nah, can't be bothered with Teletype. That editor is trying way too hard. If they had just done the sane thing and installed Vim or Emacs on the bloody thing I'd be tempted.

I might try my hand at a Nosé-Hoover patch for DROID though.

No random for what I want.
I'm into "if this then wait for end of this bar and then do this".
If that's your use case, you should definitely take a look at LPZW Schleußig.

Re: Why buy used at recent market prices?

It's noble of people to just accept high used modular prices for the sake of the environment or whatever, but the reason those high prices exist is seller greed (and enough buyers willing to go along with it), nothing more. I strongly disagree. Fact is that the longer any manufactured device is not...

@Arneb: I’m not advocating that more modules ought to be like Disting, I’m observing that this sort of thing has truly arrived and it has changed modular Sorry for creating a wrong impression. Re: The Disting Effect and new features for digital modules

You coined the term “The Disting Effect” for the thread title- does that not seem like calling out a certain module? Not @mdoudoroff, but I think what he's calling the "Disting Effect" is the idea that other modules ought to be more like Disting. The Disting is the Eurorack equivalent of the blank ...

nor do high prices help the environment. In fact, they more likely hurt it, because lower prices could result in more used modules being bought. What's more, if I can count on a high-priced used market for the latest Shiny New Thing(TM), then I don't actually need to think of whether it's the right...

FX Aid too, while it certainly has many user-driven aspects, is always an FX unit (as opposed to turning into a clock divider or quantizer or envelope generator) and there's a general consistency between controls and behavior in different algorithms. Don't give igor any more ideas. A clock divider ...

Re: Using only random/sampe and hold as a sequencer

Since I don't have so much melodic skills, I would like to try to tame a random module rather than using a complex sequencer and eventually not using its full potential. One option would be to use some kind of semi-random generative CV sequencer. Something like Qu-Bit Bloom, Vermona Melodicer, TINR...

What's that quantizer supposed to do? I'm asking because, if your pitch CV comes from Mutant Brain, then there's no need for a quantizer since MIDI note values already are discrete.
