Re: What new booty did you buy?

Erica Bassline BD-01. And... uh, according to Thomann's shipping department, a SOMA Lyra-8? Uh... nothing against the Lyra-8, we just didn't order one?

Still debating whether to return it or just keep it.

Re: modulargrid.net - the modular planner

Would it be possible to implement a feature to subdivide the 1U category into Intellijel and PulpLogic 1U? I mean, typically people want to search for one of the two, but not both.

Re: Is There A Linear Sequencer for Euro?

If you find yourself missing timing quantization in the Hermod, you can always put an S&H between your Yarns and Hermod.

Though we should probably have asked at some point, what's wrong with stand-alone Yarns? IIUC it can record MIDI data on the fly, which would kinda be what you wanted?

Re: Is There A Linear Sequencer for Euro?

And the reason you didn't find a "timing quantizer" is that Euro users call it an S&H. Those are two different things. A quantizer will take any performed input and nudge the 'note on' messages to the nearest 1/6th (e.g.) when played back. And yes, many euro sequencers will quantize CV/trig input. ...

Re: Is There A Linear Sequencer for Euro?

It's surprising to me that the term "linear sequencing" is not understood. In Cubase, Cakewalk, and many others, you can record a MIDI track just as you would an audio track. In modular of course you would be recording a stream of CV's (in a linear fashion) instead of step entering them one by one....

Re: Is There A Linear Sequencer for Euro?

Linear as in how you record MIDI tracks in a DAW. You hit record, play your MIDI keyboard, hit stop. You can go back, overdub on that same track and continue recording past where the last take ended... an undefined length... No single note step entry... Well, you can't exactly fit a keyboard into a...

Re: Sequencer for live improvisations with long sequences (64 steps and more) for 2020

Hm, how about you do for melodic sequencing what I'm currently setting out to do for percussive sequencing? 1. Go on the hunt for the most immediate and playable sequencer you can find. Now I don't know what "immediate and playable" mean to you because that's 90% a question of how a sequencer meshes...

Hi everyone, I have eurorack however, felt this would be a good topic within general modular discussion. I would like to get a Monsoon module to shift pitch utilizing a pulse wave from a uLFO. However I want to be able to control the second pitch fairly precisely (so it’s not going to a note that d...

I'm of two minds there. To cover as many of your bases as possible in 28HP, LPZW Grünau and NLC 1U Sloth. To do something which can't be easily done in 3U, the Zeroscope.

Nah, they're sold separately and are, annoyingly, harder to find than the Pipe itself. Also, for the stand, they're not selling the stand itself - they're selling adapters for mounting on a normal mic stand.

Patch gates into a cv mixer and you will have the same result... Oh, wait, you're right, I had misunderstood the description. I thought it was trigger-based, not gate-based - that it changed state whenever it received a trigger, such that a trigger burst into a single input would give you an arpegg...

It isn't - it's closer to an arpeggiator, actually. It combines multiple trigger sources into a single source of pitch CV by interpreting each of the sources as a specific pitch change.

Hi all, ok, this is probably looking like a shitpost, whatever. I'm looking for a pair of headphones for submix monitoring in live jams. For a comparator, you could always steal from biology and call it LIMEN.

For a clamping/clipping application, I'd probably steal from mathematics and go with INF and SUP.
