Issue Euclidean Circles v2 seems to drift

Edit: I think i actually fixed it!! I realized that all this time the center button hold sets the internal clock.. well my bad assumption was this internal clock got ignored when you used an external cock. Wrong.. i had mine set to one tiny little bit like the slowest clock possible (internal) since...

Re: Erica Synths uses local suppliers for components

"Erica Synths uses local suppliers" would be a true statement. "Erica Synths uses only local suppliers" would not be. Nobody could realistically do that - there are so many different components in even a simple piece of electronic equipment, and they are made in so many different places, that all-l...

Re: Erica Synths uses local suppliers for components

Lots of electronic components are made in the Phillipines and Mexico. The whole supply chain is global. That's not what I've seen in Automotive. China is essentially dominating the supply chain for anything electronic, cheap, and advanced. Also most of the vendors I speak with are waiting for thing...

Re: Erica Synths uses local suppliers for components

Erica Synths is based in Riga, Latvia. They use some ICs from ALFA, which is also situated in Riga and also does PCB manufacturing, although don't know if this service is being used. So at least for some extent. ntrm, this is a big moment for a cold war gen X er.. I almost cant wait to by a huge Er...

Re: Erica Synths uses local suppliers for components

The tubes for their fusion series are from Slovakia (JJ) and Russia, and at least in some of their desigs they used NOS transistors of Soviet design (I can't recall if these were specifically from Latvia, though). oudplayer, I wasn't aware of anyone who made stuff locally when it came to the actual...

Re: how do you manage your musical timeline using modular

I record separate tracks of a jam and make changes to the arrangement in post. I also add effects and set the levels in post, pretty much. I've been wrestling with this, why do you go back to the laptop for post and not simply record to a cassette tape (in the spirit of live modular). I guess I’m n...

Re: how do you manage your musical timeline using modular

why go back to the laptop for post and not simply record to a cassette tape (in the spirit of live modular). For me, what is acceptable live is not the same as recorded "tracks." I've noticed playing live that you can play loose and long, if the vibe is there and everyone is really feeling it. The ...

Hi ya'll is this true? I assume yes since Girt was saying it during an interview with Molten Modular. Just curious, thanks!

Re: Which module controls do you tweak the most?

1. Filter controls.. all of them 2. PWM on the oscillator 3. Distortion - I prefer bit crushers and decimators on bass drums or other crazy hard tones 4. LFO's.. man them! 5. Mute / un mute tracks 6. Change all the knobs on analog drums 7. FM amount both for osciallators and Filters 8. Delay time 9....

Combined XAOC Odessa with Joranalogue Generate 3!!

Here is the recipe for the most apocalyptic crazy insane sounds yet from my Generate 3 1. Feed a bunch of LFO's to the Odessa 2. Also plug in a tone or slow melody to the V/oct 3. Grab the left output from Odessa and patch that into the pwm input on Gen 3 4. Turn the OFM knob in the middle of genera...

Re: Xaoc Zadar, Quadruple Envelope Generator + Nin expander

I've had my Zadar for a couple weeks now and its a big change for me, going from a couple function envelopes to this its like I didn't know you could have an envelope that hits twice! one thing I have not found yet in the manual, how to use one single trigger to fire off all four of the envelopes -...

Re: Xaoc Odessa, 1975 Variable Spectrum Harmonic Cluster VCO

I would love a utopia where nothing ever seemed the least bit annoying but reality is XAOC as a great company knows this and is cracking up about it - they will when they see fit make an update if and when they want to - no issues with that at all. but who knows we just may brow beat them into it b...

I’ve always think put a gender and adjoining name to instruments, is a uniquely way of humanizing a machine or device. It seems while there’s probably a lot more but there Seems to be a fe...

Re: Xaoc Odessa, 1975 Variable Spectrum Harmonic Cluster VCO

Edit: I misread "buying" for "bullying". Sorry! :sstorm: Is bullying the right word or are we talking about normal back and forth between two parties with a little edge to it? Buying their Odessa module is not bullying.. I made my first jam last night and I love it. I'm quite sure that XAOC doesn't...

I'm guessing XAOC will update the 'firmware' if you call it that and we will have an evolving instrument I'm guessing you haven't read the whole thread ;) I actually read the thread .. :) Enjoyed it too.. Re: Xaoc Odessa, 1975 Variable Spectrum Harmonic Cluster VCO

I just finished my first ever tutorial video, the subject of which is the Odessa. This will hopefully be the first in a multipart series on the Odessa. In this video I cover the Partial and Tilt knobs, so it is a pretty simple start. There is a lot to explore with this module. My next video I inten...

Re: how do you practice?

This is a great question. I have thought a lot about this. I spent the first 40 years of my life learning how to play acoustic string instruments, and achieved a certain amount of success in this area. Coming to modular was one of the biggest leaps I ever took, on a par with working on decoupled sc...

Re: Doing more with less

I've been thinking about this topic since I saw the thread and still don't have my thoughts 100% solidified but in essence I think it boils down to: It depends. I'll just take the Rothko and Newman example. They're awesome an visually simple but Rothko's technique was also pretty involved with lots...

Re: Doing more with less

...I think the simple answer is: Go over to your wall of Eurorack, select seven or eight modules... and just use them. Period. (...snip for space saving..) When I was starting my journey, I was using the Realistic MG-1 (horrible for staying in tune, and occasionally wonky in hot weather) and my bra...
