Re: Sync over the Internet

https://soundjack.eu/index.php For best performance, both parties have to use an Ethernet cable rather than WiFi, and performance varies by hardware, distance, ISP reliability, etc. The video example shows two people jamming with traditional instruments with 20ms of latency, which is similar to perf...

Best case PAIA Hot Springs adaptation (is what I crave)

The idea of adapting PAIA Hot Springs reverb to a module has come up a few times, but hasn’t gone anywhere unless people have done it for themselves and not posted detailed results. https://www.paia.com/proddetail.asp?prod=6740K&cat=27 I’d love to hear how it sounds as a true stereo unit with four o...

Re: VOID Modular Hexagram

I love mine. I’ve been AMing the hell out of everything I can lately. Awesome value, multi-purpose, really frees up the rest of my modest system. I won’t hesitate to get more VOID in the future. Brutalist looks fun.

Re: What are your goals when it comes to modular synthesis?

To force ephemera, and to limit myself to patch from scratch. I compose linear things with other gear, so I wanted something that would force me to let go of intention. For that reason, I don't have a normal note sequencer, just synced LFOs if I want something to repeat, and shaped S&H for wandering...

Re: Euclidean Circles sync issue

I clock my EC v1 with the Flame Clockwork 16th output, and sometimes I'll use one of the sync'd square Gate outputs to reset it (and then quickly unpatch before it triggers again), and this has caused the 1 16th out-of-sync problem for me as well. I've found that adjusting the gate length of the res...

Re: Reminder: Blank panels don't sound good!

I really need some blank panels. How did you afford the cereal? Filthy, shameful things (desktop support). Can we please get these added to Modular Grid? I guess if I can get better lighting and accurate hp measurements... aesthetically behringer is certainly the sugared cereal packaging of synths ...

Reminder: Blank panels don't sound good!

Seriously, who are all these billionaires spending module money on blank panels when cereal exists?

Not this guy!

What's the craziest thing you've done for module money?

I'm on the edge of doing things I previously found questionable.

Feel free to enable my descent, as I'm in great need of ideas, and I love crazy stories.

Depending on what you use for a case, you could cut it up and mount your power inputs on the side. What's that, 10hp more free?

I got a picture while dropping it in my DIY case. I think the circled chips are the 3340s, but even when I zoom in, I have serious doubts about my ability to mess with this without ruining it. I had thought that because they claim to use the same fabrication process as the original chips that the pa...

This is all fantastic information, thanks! I’ll do some exploration and post what I find.

Worth noting that 13 is my (not really believed) lucky number, so we’ll see if it holds up or breaks the streak.

Behringer Neutron hacks / diy / tweaks?

I'd be curious to see any Neutron hacks, but I just scoured MW and all of Googledom to see if anyone tried to access the Neutron's 3340 chips' Linear FM input and found nothing. Maybe I could find better search terms? "Your search - ["linear fm hack" OR "linear fm breakout" OR "linear fm diy"] behri...

That's using your noodle! I'd love to hear an example of dual VCA for the mono sources. Each mono side will have a slightly different sound and response which will make the mono sources slightly stereo, or it'd be easy to set up panning or other ways to make the mono inputs stereo. Congrats, cool so...

Someday I'll get a power supply for this and actually use it. 10U, 104hp with air gap top and bottom. Features to come are a lid compartment for patch cables and power brick, and a way to prop the bottom on the top at different angles. Sides are dinged up rough 19/32" sheathing ply joined with glue ...

I’d complain about the 21+ day tease, but the timing is irrelevant to me as I haven’t saved the money for this module and don’t even have a power supply yet, so instead I’ll just point out that the message was posted at 4:20pm which I’m sure has nothing to do with anything but I can’t stop anyone fr...

Please pardon any first post dumbness. Hello! I started with the generosity of @akavalve loaner gear in a Pulp Logic Lunchbox LBZ54. I say “generosity,” but I know he was just trying to infect me with this wretched obsession, and it worked, much to his credit. After passing on a Boog for too few pat...
