I think I will buy some better mono jack plugs and just change them over on my Disting. It's not a big job and shit happens....should only cost about £6.

Or solder some wires to it on the inside and then use a multi module (really cheap) and wire it to those. Obviously disconnect the multi's jacks from each other.

Sounds good, I take it it is consistant. Just bought one rather than a dedicated Quantizer.

Now I'll have to tune my home made Oakley oscillators to 1v per oct :hihi:

Quantiser, Disting and latency?

Ok so I have myself a nice Oberkorn step sequencer and of course getting an accurate note is not exactly easy....creation ebbs away as the logical side of the brain has to deal with the tuning. Enter the Disting module and I see that it indeed does quantizing...excellent. Now....are all quantizers d...

Cheers Tony, I'll start racking it up. Should help with tuning, just one stupid thing left...having sold the unused bits (rear case etc) to Phil Oakey from Human League...on ebay as well  I now have no keyboard for it but did keep the circuit from the keyboard as in the long resistor board ...

Hi Tony, appreciate your reply, only problem being the power supply is just not around anymore. The Odyssey mk3 is going to be permanently mounted in my modular case with the rest of my home made Oakley modules. It should work though should it not? PS. About to order a boat load of pcb's from you to...

Arp Odyssey using Oakley modular power supply

Hi guys, looooong time Oakley synth user and builder with a question. The power supply on my Arp Odyssey is completely broke, but it uses the same voltages as my Oakley modlar which has the big power supply fitted. +15v and -15v (hoping the arp is 15v and not 12v).... is this a totally not crazy thi...

But then you lose the sample accurate timing of running AS-16 inside Reason as rewire. USB midi or any midi interface into a PC as you know is a crap shoot at the best of times for jitter and latency. Running an analog sequencer like the Oberkorn is very tight on timing when synced up via an audio g...

Even your onboard sound card should have a digital/spdif output. Then use Asio4all if on PC to get low latencies. Not sure for Mac.

The midi sequencer in Cubase is about as creative/impulsive as an Analog Step Sequencer is at making a cup of tea. Scenario's: A: I use an Oberkorn analog step sequencer but then am at the mercy of its tuning to my modular and would also need a quantise requiring setting up my synth to a strict 1v/o...

Reason, AS16 and ES-3

So I was going to get an Oberkon Analog 3 x 16 step sequencer but just do not have the money. So saw this: http://www.wiretotheear.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/AS-16-Analog-Sequencer.png I would like to hook 3 of these up to replicate the 3 x 16 step analog sequencer I was going to buy...this one:...

A dedicated 16 Step Sequencer with 3 x rows Pitch, Gate and Aux. Basically copying the step sequencers of old. In a dedicated plugin that can load the calibration files. Skip and on/off switches for each step, also built in quantizer for different scales. All knobs easily assignable to midi controll...

I don't like it when all the oscillators are tuned by Silent Way, makes them sound less....analog. Best to have 1 osc setup with silent way and multi the output to the others.

You might have to do some scaling and tuning to get the other oscillators to match the uber silent way tuned one.

This will be my next purchase as midi timing is my biggest hate.

Now I notice (as I am tending not to quantise absolutely everything) that usb midi input kills the timing recorded.

Wonder if the reverse could be done?

OS if you could make some simple to use step type sequencers with the old analog modular type interfaces it would sell like hot cakes. Will be running Reason inside Cuba...

Midi jitter is a killer for midi synths. I will be upgrading to an ES-4 at some point to run my Akai S-950.

The Atari ST was tight when using Notator but midi shows it's jitteness when put up against sample accurate audio.

I think the ES-4 will be the closest you can get to tight midi these days.

Hi OS,

this was more of a post to help peeps out rather than me having a problem with calibration. With this calibration file and jpeg set up I can get over 6 octaves.....but will look into your top tip.
