Yes Successful build too .. Probably had a few issues, cant recall though. It is definetely a working project as i have sen a few builds on the ytube. Perhaps "fg" has an improved version.

If you have several signals to level shift it might be easiest to use a CD40109B Thanks, tried the circuit but no joy... Anyway I have 4504 on order cheers for the tip. In the meantime frustratingly hitting another development wall I tried a 4069 inverter ,coupled 2 i/o , powered by 9v and the 4017...

It isnt quite clear in the image as to how to buss the individual gates into a single output. Needed a 1k centre tap pot for amdek pck percussion synth, for to sweep pitch up/down. Ebay seller in uk still sells centre detent pots and I used this scheme with resistors .
