Re: Disting MK4 J-5 Audio Recorder Question
It seems to be related to the number of recordings. I removed the recording folder to start fresh and it seems to be ok now

Re: Disting MK4 J-5 Audio Recorder Question
Hi Es, is there a recording length limit on the EX WAV recorder? It seems to record well for a while then gives "SD Card Error" after around ~6mins

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Has anyone managed to record V/oct CV using J-5 Audio Recorder successfully? I've got a V/oct CV going into X and coming out from A controlling the pitch of the VCO. Unfortunately the pitch doesn't appear to track. I've measured the voltage going into X and coming out of A and there appears to be dr...

Disting MK4 J-5 Audio Recorder Question
Hi os and Disting users, Hope you've all had a nice break for the holidays. I'm attempting to use the Stereo Audio Recorder to record two sets of CVs but I've run into issues. I wonder if you could shed some light on to whether what I'm attempting should be possible, and if so, what might be going w...

Just want to add my good word in for signal sounds. Always great service. Perhaps consider amending the thread title to at least say resolved or similar OP?

What a kind and thoughtfully put together review/feedback. Thanks radiokoala - I'll think on what you have said. Keep up the good work on this thread - love it.

Re: I will review your modular tracks
Amazing thread radiokoala, some serious effort. I’ll throw my chips in the game. This is a new one, splash of eurorack, some mimeophon, piston honda 3, dusting for the piano samples. Down tempo, sequenced on electron boxes.

Befaco CV thing troubleshooting
I've just put together a Befaco CV thing. Not my first build, was probably a bit complacent as it seemed quite simple. Anyway, it's not working as it should. Anyone built one of these? I've emailed Befaco but thought I'd ask around here as well just in case. The build appeared to be working ok, but ...

Re: Random Sequencing: Marbles vs. Permutation
On the expanded TM, do you find yourself using the gate outputs a lot, and in your experience, was it easier to use the gate outputs in a musical way than it was with Marbles? I do find that the gates on the TM are easier to use and control than those with Marbles, but I don't think I can say that ...

Re: Grids VS Knight''s Gallop VS ....??
A lot of reverb on those drums, makes it difficult to hear the effect.synth.void wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 7:17 pmThis looks interesting:
I love grids, but it lacks mute buttons, and I barely use the left side of the module - never sure what's going to happen when CV applied.

Re: Disting Feature Requests
Dual oscillator with independent v/oct inputs. Selectable waveforms. With two distings (or an ex), you then have a quad oscillator that could be used for chords, etc.

Re: Disapointing Modules
Isn't that kind of the point of a Disting? No reason to bring it into a patch when another dedicated module will work, it's just an extra multi-tool for when you need it. (Which isn't to say it couldn't be the first thing you patch, if you start off knowing you'll need something that none of your o...

Re: Disapointing Modules
Distings are great if you're creating with intention, that is - you know what it is you're trying to do. They're not so great if you're experimenting and patching with no particular goal in mind. How do you know what algorithm to select if you don't have a particular goal? I tend to end up not patch...

Re: Attenuator Options
Ochd is bipolar. If you want unipolar you'll need offset.HenryBurlingame wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 12:28 pmGreat, thanks for all the recommendations everyone. One more question before I decide: do you find you need to use offset with the Ochd, or is simple attenuation usually enough?

I use the Antumbra ATN8 for precisely this. It is very dense and so isn't very playable, but for set and forget it works well.

Re: Using one midi expander with two Disting Ex (solved)
If you start to run into problems, i'd guess the safer way to do this would be to have the two midi in pins on the expander connected to the two midi in pins on disting ex 1, and then the two midi out pins of disting ex 1 connected to the two midi in pins of disting ex 2. You'd enable midi thru mode...

The Switch algorithm can now presumably be used as a probability skipper (although I've not had a chance to test it yet)... If so, excellent. Thanks.

Re: Qu-Bit Bloom
The lesson to learn here is: when a Qu-Bit module is released, wait. Then keep waiting. Keep your powder dry. I dropped $2000+ on Qu-Bit last year and sold all of it except for Chord (love it) and Bloom (feel bad selling things no one should buy). There is something deeply wrong with Qu-Bit’s muffw...

Definitely +1 to a chord mode.
Quad VCO, quantisation/scales/modal chord progressions, inversions, harmonisation, etc.
Beast mode.
