it will be great for focusing on small groups of modules to learn them. no running out of stackcables or mixers!

Re: PinMix 15x15 summing routing matrix

Ah,great!,so you've had email contact with George Hinton? I think he's one of the people who knows the most about these things. The layout depends on the size of your system. In my case, I asked Hinton for a metal top lock so I could hold a eurorack box over it,but there are other possibilities. ;)...

eagerly awaiting one! do you prefer it on the bottom of your rack? currently I'm thinking of putting it at the top to keep cables from hanging over the matrix

Re: EMS Synthi modules

DIY, but Haible made a trap gen/VCA that is not a copy, but emulates the Synthi EG. Hinton makes a PinMix with precise summing that is the best version of a pin matrix available. It's more comparable to a VCS3 matrix with the buffered matrix mod

I'd like sheets of peel off adhesive rings in green and red to shove over
jack necks sticking on the panels,
marking the ins and outs to avoid the somewhere mentioned
plugging the out of rings to out of plaits.
befaco banananuts are good for this as well

Re: When only a unity mixer will do.

I like using them for combining different sequencer steps (gate and/or CV output). For example, my 8 step sequencer has mix 1-4, 5-8, mix all and individual outs. a unity mixer lets me select other combinations of the steps without messing with knobs or the sequence e.g. 1, 3 and 7

I was wondering about that as well. and what is the small header below the power connection for? got mine from control today, luckily nothing was bent. it looks flawless. apologies for the cable coming through the pic, it was the best pic I got of a dozen from inside my case. sounds great so far, bu...

Re: Frap Tools Brenso

glad I ordered from control then. though everything I've ordered from PC has been packaged well. I imagine you could send it back and get a replacement? I don't need more oscillators, but sometimes I wish my Gen 3 had an osc to pair without sacrificing part of troika from chord duty. If I deem it wo...

I'm still at the learning through trial and error stage. For me, RTFM comes when I have a bit more experience with a module so it sinks in better. I'll be doing a lot of manual labor soon I suggest giving the manual at least a skim sooner rather than later. It is really quite readable as in-depth m...

Re: Small attenuator knobs? The case for and against

I've never liked 'attenuverters'. It's hard to center them to zero, maybe impossible. They provide one half the resolution of a full turn attenuator. These problems are mitigated somewhat with larger knobs. Using the pot shaft as a knob for an attenuverter is the worst case scenario. Sometimes I do...

Re: Large components = fat sound?

AFAIK the main difference between through hole and SMT is serviceability. larger components mean you can fit something with higher voltage or power capacity, but that shouldn't matter much once you have components that won't blow in your circuit conditions. sounds like some marketing BS

there's a video or two that show parts of the sequencer in action. it seems like you can make a song without mental gymnastics and obviously you have nearly unlimited sample time. A 5th bank for MIDI, but it still has the 12 bit low sample rate mode and swing of the original. since it sounds pretty ...

I don't have much interest in building SMT or digital modules 2) I like the potential for customisat...
