Re: What new booty did you buy?

Fancied a break from synths so bought this Rose Morris snare and some brushes. Looking forward to experimenting with some clippy mics

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0o1YRBitxCo Can’t help but feel that this LP was the catalyst for a lot of the artists featured in England’s Hidden Reverse. Hands down my favourite Krautrock album, it will forever keep me guessing. Too many to choose https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJqBW2LB_VU https...

Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

I enjoyed watching both the Loopop and Hainbach videos. I'm still on the fence over this synth, Hainbach says it requires a bit more thought than the usual fare and is well suited to people who do dance/idm but then Loopop does that whole ambient slow burn thing and it sounds amazing on it's own

some drone made running my Continnum through my Lyra-8: https://youtu.be/sjVn5yRo87A would be interested to see what others are doing with theirs That was gorgeous, always a pleasure listening to what you conjure from the Lyra. As for the Continuum, way out of my price range but a beautiful looking...

Re: Small standalone effects box?

Zoom MS70CDR is indeed great for the price and easy to use. My go to for effects recently has been the Organelle. Loads of patches/parameters too and it can sample sounds or be used as a standalone poly/mono synth.

Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

I lusted after the original unit for a good while but this reveal has left me feeling deflated. It's being hyped to hell and back on my feed. You could buy a Grandmother (best mono ever) for that kind of money. Stretch further and you could probably get a second hand Peak. Not the same thing, but eq...

Re: Quarantined for 2 months with one synth...

Pulsar 23 if that counts, it looks a joy to explore. It is however quite a way out of my budget at the moment. That said I have had a lot of fun with the Organelle M this week, plenty to tweak and experiment with

Re: What does rock solid build quality mean to You?

Stability, no wobbly pots and the ability to withstand travel. One of favourite instruments is the Lyra 8, it feels indestructible and would probably break a foot if accidentally dropped. I have heard very good things about AJH eurorack modules and am currently eyeing up a Minimod system :hmm:

https://sallowworm.bandcamp.com/releases Always nice to see this thread bumped, it's one of my favourites on the site. Re: Steve Albini

Love him or hate him, he could always see through the bullshit and his criticism of Lyle Preslar and other A&R industry pigs who preyed on and promised unsigned bands the world is spot on. His work ethic is also interesting, particularly that story where he sat at the console browsing gear mags and ...

Re: New gear from Moog, what would you like to see happen.?

Interesting point about newer Moog gear not quite hitting the highs of older products. Saying that, I had a blast patching up the grandmother this afternoon, it's still a joy to play. I would definitely agree that they missed a trick not releasing the Subharmonicon, the gap in the rack is there for ...
