Re: Name a module you sold, only to buy it again later on

Music Thing Modular Radio Music. I found I wasn't using it for making music, I was just using it as a convenient source of drum loop samples for testing out other modules and patches. So I sold it. Now I find I could really do with a convenient source of drum loop samples for testing out other modul...

Re: Options for monitoring while recording audio

@LunaticSound - in theory I could do that, but I'd still have to take that stereo pair out into something that would give me a headphone out. Plus the latency might be an issue, rather than the zero-latency solution I'm hoping for.

Re: Options for monitoring while recording audio

@Agawell - stackables and a mixer are an option, I was just hoping to avoid the hassle and cable hell of splitting the output for every channel I'm recording. @hawkfull - I can't use the headphone out on the Scarlett as I'm not recording via it - everything is going into the ES-8, which I'd bought i...

Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

Hi - I'm having a little trouble working out if the internal mixer will do what I need before I purchase: - Is it possible to have inputs 1-8 monitored through the headphone output in real time (i.e. without latency)? If so, can I pan some inputs individually to the centre of the stereo image, inste...

Options for monitoring while recording audio

I recently picked up an Expert Sleepers ES-8, hoping to use it for both outputting CV to my rack via Silent Way, and recording audio without having to trail cables to my audio interface, or worry about levels getting too hot. For CV output everything is going swimmingly, but when recording audio I f...

Re: Ugliest module, best looking one !

To add my counter-opinion, I love the sound and design philosophy of NLC modules but personally can't handle the white and gold look. It's just too "Gucci" for me as a color scheme and really doesn't match the sound that comes out IMHO (am I being "synesthesiac" right now?). I guessed that I...

Personal favourites are Zlob: - https://images.reverb.com/image/upload/s--4Jjwg6ZC--/f_auto,t_large/v1542575264/cjh467tvhwq7luorp8zw.jpg And NLC - I love their shiny white faceplates (even though they stand out a mile among the sea of black and silver) with minimalist gold embossing and shiny black ...

Those cards are a nice concept. They give me an idea. If you built a device something like a patchbay, with a ton of 3.5mm jack sockets, each of which was connected to a card system a bit like this one. Then you patch every input/output from each module in your rack into it... voila, instant custom ...

My first foray into anything vaguely modular was a Korg Volca Modular, followed by a Behringer Neutron. But I didn't really get either of them until I took the plunge and bought some Euro modules. Something about the normalised connections on the semi-modulars made it too easy to stick with the defa...
