Re: The Ciat-Lonbarde Family Jams

A few live improvisations focusing on the softer, more melodic side of primarily the Deerhorn Organ and Cocoquantus. Plumbutter, Sidrax and Soma Lyra 8 is in there, too.

Re: The Ciat-Lonbarde Family Jams

I’m new around here but I’ve been quietly using MW to learn how to patch Cocoquantus and Plumbutter for a few months. Here’s a slow and quiet piece I made with the addition of Blooper for adding pitch variations to Plumbutter: https://youtu.be/cahl0whLQFw I like splitting the outputs from Cocoquant...

does this mean if you plug two different stereo signals (one in each input) then they will be stacked on top of one another in the L & R channels?
For the two stereo inputs on the front - yes, exactly!

Re: The Deerhorn: A Ciat-Lonbarde podcast!

Listened to the whole album just now, and wow what a ride! Managed to keep it together but still gave me some deep deep emotions of pain and relief. I thought i was done with ambient music like this for years because usually i give this kind of music a couple of minutes before getting bored and tur...

Re: The Deerhorn: A Ciat-Lonbarde podcast!

Enjoyed the last episode, too bad the music piece seem to be cut or it faded way to quick. I should check the links i guess. Thanks! Which music piece? Or at which point in the show rather? At the end there was a piece of music which i guess was the deerhorn in action and it hit me real hard with e...

Re: The Ciat-Lonbarde Family Jams

I guess it´s alright to post one more before we´re in overbombing territory... I might get around to the noisier parts of the Tetrax. Maybe. Eventually. But it´s not easy to let go of that brass-like tone.

Re: The Ciat-Lonbarde Family Jams

Just got the Tetrax, which means the family has to get to know the new baby. This is very simple and very melodic but I just love the clean, softer side of Tetrax core sound, so... Deerhorns and Sidrax singing with Tetrax, Plumbutter & Cocoquantus providing the backdrop. There´s some Jen SX bass the...

Re: The Ciat-Lonbarde Family Jams

A session from a few days ago which I´m pretty happy with. Prepared improvisation, I guess you´d call it, Sidrax doing its pan flutey thing and the Deerhorn sequenced from the Plumbutter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO5OdqbR3tw And while I´m at it, I´ve put a new very Ciat-centric 3-track single...

Re: The Ciat-Lonbarde Family Jams

It’s been a couple of months since Sidrax joined the family, but this was some kind of initiation for it. Thought I could share it here:

Edit: there’s an overdub: The Lyra 8 chords entering after a while.

So glad to have joined the C-L family. Here's my first real stab at using the Cocoquantus2. Two loops of Tetrax, and then two loops of guitar. I love this thing.

:tu: And that´s some first stab! :-) :cloud:

I'm actually curious about picking up a microphone to use with the coco, trying out a different workflow. I feel like it could be a great combo for more freeform exploration.

Re: Tetrax vs Lyra-8

I'll try clearing both buffers tomorrow, perhaps that's the issue. Gotta get some sleep. I hear the adventure´s begun... sweet tones from the Tetrax! To me, from your description it definitely sounds like the buffers need a clearing. Which is super simple, but I guess you already know that. Input, ...

Hopefully my coco2 arrives today. I'm working remotely due to Covid-19, but I'll drive in tonight after rush hour to pick it up. I haven't been this excited for an instrument to arrive in a long time. Great! Hope you´ll have a really good time with it - especially now, considering the strange times...

Re: Tetrax vs Lyra-8

I picked up a Tetrax a month ago or so, somewhat on a lark. I have had some fun jamming with it through FX. Patching brings out some nice, unexpected results as well. However, I'm not sure I like the "attack / press" phase coming out the left output and "release" phase out of the right output. I fi...

Re: Tetrax vs Lyra-8

Great to hear that you´re happy with the Tetrax! As a newcomer to CL who started with the Coco and soon grabbed an opportunity with a PB, I have to say the Cocoquantus was an instant love for me - so much fun to use with almost anything, and somewhat a new world of sound opening up. I´m not sure I w...

I’m in the process of recording another album with my Ciat Lonbarde setup, which I plan to release in the summer digitally and also on tape.

Re: Tetrax vs Lyra-8

Interesting question. I have a Lyra 8 which I use a lot with a Cocoquantus 2 and a Plumbutter 2 and I think the three of them make good soundscapes together. Like you, I´m also curious about the Tetrax and Sidrax organs but I´d prefer to keep the Lyra (it may be a one- or twotrick pony in my hands b...
