Re: [Project] Music Thing Radio Music 4hp sample player

I seem to have just fried my second Radio Music. Was removing it from the rack while powered up so I could adjust the trimmer to reduce gain and distortion. When I put it back, I must have shorted some pins against the adjacent module's faceplate - it's dead now. I removed the Teensy and TL074 and ...

Re: [Project] Music Thing Radio Music 4hp sample player

How do you do that?..... Audacity? I've been converting files for my Nutella Tusnami one by one in Audacity to convert to mono, sample rate, and remove the metadata.... batch processing would certainly save me a lot of time. I recommend batch-converting your files to mono. I'm on MacOS a...

Re: 16 pin female-female box-power-header

female2female.jpg This is how I did it with a 10-pin... Not sure how the double-sided headers are called though... I once got them with my USB logic analyzer/scope. - So just stick as many header pins in as you need. - Stick it in another cable. Be aware of the orientation of the wires... (red stri...

Re: Broken leg on IC Socket

Don't cut it away. I've done that, and it often results in lifted pads. Hmmm, NOPE that's NOT what we wan't! Sorry for this bad suggestion. Grab the leg from the top with a pair of needle nose pliers, and unbend it so that you can grab it with tweezers...then you can desolder each leg by itself, an...

Re: Recommendations Illuminated magnifier for SMT

86536-large_default.jpg I like these kind of magnifiers. With some types you get a few lenses with different strengths, so you can switch if needed. That little LED-light is useless though! (unless you drop a part and it lands on the floor... Then you can use it a searchlight, but you still have to...

Re: Broken leg on IC Socket

I can't for the life of me fit a small piece of wire through the socket to reach the board. So I'm going to to go the route of using wick. There are a few spots I need to clean up anyway. Thanks for the tips on using the wick Abyssinianloop. Watched a few vids on Youtube and I think I get the idea....

Re: Eurorack rotary switch module - 8 in 1 out

Personally I would just stick to a rotary switch. Because that is the most simple approach. Otherwise (with the 3 switches) you are complicating yourself, because you will have to use a multiplexer, you need need powerlines, you'll need resistors and so on... While when using a switch (witch might b...

Re: DIY synth cartridge

With the schematic you show, it will not be possible to save your sounds! Only to open sounds that are on the ROM already. You have to look into a RAM-cartridge if you want to also save your sounds... [edit] Well, maybe the schematic is correct (haven't really checked) but with a 27C64 EPROM in the ...

I think that people that think the NerdSeq "feels unfinished" are just a little bit spoiled. See the NerdSeq firmware page, and remind yourself what you all have gotten EXTRA. https://xor-electronics.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=11 And yes of course there are a lot of updates that are for expander...

Re: Is a Radio Music breakout module possible?

BartBral, have you ever tried running the radio music OS on one of the Prok Drum modules? To be honest I'm not sure if I tested Radio-Music on the Prok... But I did run the Prok on a Radio-music when I was troubleshooting one of my Prok builds. I will switch the Teensy now... ...wait a second... .....

Re: Is a Radio Music breakout module possible?

I have some Prok-drums witch are basically just the Radio-Music hardware (with another voltage regulator, and other software on the Teensy) and they have already made an I/O expansion header (that is unused as far as I know). If somebody can rewrite the Teensy code... I am willing to test if it work...

Re: Teensy Eurorack Recipe / Pattern Libraries?

For the more standard things (MIDI, OLED, Encoder, Pot) I think you best ask in the Teensy forum itself... https://forum.pjrc.com/forums And you mention CV/Gate-out as it was one output... But as far as I know in Eurorack there's no special circuit that will do that... And if you want to use just on...

Re: Roland TR-707 -- modify or keep stock?

I will let you know when I have everything together! In the mean time, take a look out to samples you want to put into it... That is (I think) the most time consuming. They can always only be as long as the original samples (or shorter) but never longer! And also be aware that the envelopes are also...
