Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

2) When people have been talking abut an internal trimpot to adjust the cutoff range, are you saying you can make the filter range lower to have more of the highs filtered out? That would be amazing and if so, any info on where to look to find specific instructions on how to do this would be most a...

Re: albums/recordings made with buchla?

thanks for this. when the strings started i thought this was going to be very different than what it turned out to be. glad i stuck with it, great record. Oh, so glad you enjoyed it. It evolves into a really tight and focused banger after a while, but it feels like a shame to warn people :sb: He go...

Re: disting mk4 firmware announcement thread

I was, yes. It was a freak occurrence, and hasn't happened since, which is why I wondered if it was sitting crunching things. I'll certainly zip up the contents for you when I'm next by my rack if it's useful. (Though only if you want to look for your own curiosity- it's no longer a problem so I don...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

This looks wild and very attractive, but also something of a first cut. The lack of inputs, given the size of the unit, feels like something that is a bit less than optimal. A start/stop in particular and defaulting to 24ppqn would make sense. If it were my decision, I'd drop maybe half of the outpu...

Re: disting mk4 firmware announcement thread

Was part of the under the hood changes something to do with how the samples are prepared for use (reversed or similar)? After the update, I7 was completely unresponsive for a while though the display looked normal. I was flailing around a bit, but after half an hour and a couple of reboots (possibly...

Personally I am waiting for the "KILL ALL BITCHES LMAO GENOCIDED UP" version, where not only is it all black, but the knobs have been replaced by studded skulls to be more edgy and xtreem.

Re: Behringer 2600

People like complaining, that is obvious. You do not like the reverb? Add one that suits your needs.. You want to mic those small crappy speakers? There is lots of small computer speakers to choose from. They were small. They weren't, however, necessarily crappy, more characteristic. Kinda missing ...

Re: Behringer 2600

I'd rather have them omit the reverb section entirely if they aren't going to put in an effort to at least make a spring reverb emulation sound like one. I had DAW plug-ins that sounded more authentic 20 years ago. You can make entire classes of sounds that are generated just by sending pulses of s...

Re: Behringer 2600

Is it really that much of a failure point? All this other gear with spring reverb tanks. I've never had one go bad. It sounds like an excuse to get down production costs as much as possible. Less than $2 worth of LCD screen and effects IC cost instead. Goodness knows- I mean, they're more volatile ...

Croched synth is best synth. My Euro lived in a sewn bright orange microfiber cover for a while, but it wasn't as rustic as that!

Re: Behringer 2600

I think part of it is that they didn't want to be responsible for a spring tank and all that entails. Behringer aren't famous for their QA and low return rate to dealers, after all. The $10 they would have to pay for them wholesale if they didn't make them in-house would probably be 1/4 of the part...

Re: Behringer 2600

Also, wow, that reverb.. it'd be ok in a budget Euro module, but in a 2600? It's an insult. The target market might not care, but a spring reverb is conspicuous by its absence. Where are they going to fit it inside that small case? Absolutely. Presumably that was part of the calculus, what they cou...

Re: Behringer 2600

RIP Korg. RIP preorders. Err no. Korg sold out instantly, even the preorder demand outstripped supply massively. Anyone lucky enough to have the space and budget for the Korg who happened to also get one is unlikely to abandon it on the strength of these videos. Also, wow, that reverb.. it'd be ok ...

Re: High-end audio in-out module?

I had a 4ms Listen IO just because it looked like a nice way to avoid some fiddling. Sadly, the build quality wasn't there- the right input jack was hit and miss and the left one was totally borked. Brand new mod, so back to the retailer. It didn't look like the sturdiest build quality, so now I hav...

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

Yep, gives it a bit more of a bouncy feel. I still need to pop the thing open and back the VCF bias off a bit, I think mine's a bit bright, but it really doesn't sound bad. Guess it's hard to fuck up such a simple design- but I really do enjoy mine.

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

Worth checking the firmware's up to date- some time around the turn of the year it was updated, one of the changes was to make the slide a little longer, so it sounded more rubbery and 303ish. The update actually makes the slide a litte shorter as it was too long to begin with. When you added a sli...

Re: Cheapest module to trigger a 16bit 44.1 audio sample

Yes, I have a Disting MK4,, the i7 algorithm is nice and snappy. I was mostly being curious about the practicalities of connecting the Roland in case I stumble across a cheap used one, being nosey etc..
