Re: Malekko Heavy Industries Voltage Block

I’m thinking of using VB for both melodic sequencing and modulation across the different channels. Looking at alternatives to Varigate for gate sequencing. I have some 1U space... so would Steppy 1U be good for this and has anyone tried the VB-Steppy combo? Cheers I'm about to. Got a VB now waiting...

Re: Malekko Heavy Industries Voltage Block

Yeah i've tried like 20 times before cranking the volume up. Needs to me hotter than-3dB(0dB @10V for reference) pretty much. It's sensitive but the update works and I have to encouter a bug to date. The old hardware revision with the red pcb was freezing often, the 1.5 works as intended. Would love...

Sorry, I don't understand your post. Are you saying that product can create an IR of a distortion pedal?
Yes exactly that

Re: Common ground between two cases (intellijel performance cases)

is this a common problem?
I was thinking about getting a second case but I really don't want to have issues with cross patching.

I have the 7u 104hp one

Re: Intellijel Palette 4.5U Cases

At that pricepoint the old 104hp 7u looks like a bargain.
This will still be popular i think

EDIT:
MSRP is $399 usd

Reasonable considering the utilities/jacks and power

I'd love to see an oscilloscope algorithm on the Disting EX now that it has the screen. I have a small system, and having and oscilloscope I can switch too to check things would be great.

EDIT: I'm not even sure if the Intellijel is DC-coupled. Just had a glance at the manual. It doesn't state anything there.

Re: Disting EX feature request

No, the disting EX isn't connected to drive the gate bus. Perhaps you could ask Malekko to update the Voltage Block firmware to respond to MIDI clock on the Select Bus. Alternatively use a bus breakout module and send in a regular clock - or DIY a more permanent connection. http://www.doepfer.de/a1...

Yes, that's just the traditional Doepfer gate bus, not the Select Bus.
So no luck right?

Re: Disting EX feature request

Yes, that would work. The pin-out is on page 75 of the disting EX user manual. Did the test. MIDI sync gets through now but not in the "right" way. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xUbwXvePny-bAIf9a8ZeRd982i361KBW/view : Additional info, maybe useful. From VB manual: By default, the VOLTAGE BLOCK i...

Re: Disting EX feature request

So the disting EX would send clock on the the Select Bus? I.e. a MIDI clock message? I wasn't aware that was part of the Select Bus spec. In firmware v1.5 I added the ability to forward MIDI from the breakout to the Select Bus, so if you send in MIDI clock from elsewhere you could test this works. ...

Re: Disting EX feature request

I would really love to be able to clock/reset my 2 Voltage Blocks with the disting EX via the Select Bus . It would allow me to set up 4(!) less cables to clock my VBs. Also I think more Malekko modules would react to this clock. I tried to see if the module is capable of doing it (with the select b...

Re: Disapointing Modules

I was initially drawn to modular by the sound of the DPO. While the sound is really good the practical usability of the module was pretty much zero for me. I felt like it required a whole rack just to make it play nicely. I felt like it was keeping my rack hostage by this need for a lot of extra mod...

Re: Module which unexpectedly blew you away?

It's probably going to be strange to encounter someone mentioning an utility module in this thread but I just want to tell about my experience with the 333 module by Frap Tools. What initially was a simple mixer and mult turned an incredibly flexible solution for all kinds of piping. I never thought...

HOW are YOU integrating equipment into your workflow???

I'm in process of pretty much completely changing my rack since first starting doing modular (jan 2020). Let's call it Phase 2. I'm curious about how you pick and choose new equipment and how are you integrating it in your workflow. Before modular I work at exclusively in Ableton Live without any ha...

Anyone tried contacting NE? Perhaps it ccould be a simple firmware change or changing a value of a resistor that maybe able to solve this loudness issue?

Nevermind, I've just sent them an email. Let's see what they respond with.
Did you get a response?
