Re: Favorite Multitimbral VAs?

It’s still pretty hard to beat the Virus for multi-timbral va. 16 channels, Lots of controls, independent effects with each synth (used to be hard to find), etc.

Re: Triple Glide Usage?

You might hit up the dotcom peeps. It would be great to see these become a standard module.

Re: Triple Glide Usage?

It’s exactly why I have four of them. In fact I currently have a quad glide patch wired up on my system right now. Each one is set to glide on down, with a slightly different rate. It can make a sequence sound really huge. Tons o fun.

Matriarch does some tricks the Grandmother can't touch. The dual filters are incredible.

If it has to be one it's a tossup between the Matriarch and the Pro 2. Not sure what my choice would be if it came to it.

Re: 5U adventure, activate

I placed my big psu in the back side of the rack under the system, on a small rear rack shelf. The separation and rubber feet makes it so I only hear the fan if it’s silent in the room and I listen for it. IMG_0237.jpeg p.s. I love that this board software knows how to properly rotate an image, yet ...

Re: 5U adventure, activate

LOL yea, I changed my original plan because I wanted to be able to get behind it. I'd love to have it in the alcove in the room, but this sure is more convenient. Someday I'm going to mount it on the wall, and when I do, it's going to have a latching system that lets me drop it forward to get behind...

Re: 5U adventure, activate

I haven’t run into any yet. My fallback idea is to use a dotcom rackmount bracket for any that are too deep, since I have a lot of rack space and still have the rack bracket, harness, and psu, since that’s what I started with.

What I hope for is a ReIssue of Prophet 5 but I guess it will never happen (I have a Prophet 6 - close but not the same as a P5 ReIssue).
Ha! You got it right first. :cloud:

Re: Dave Smith hints at Sequential Prophet 5 Rev4/Prophet 10

Personally I was a bit disappointed when the new Sequential magic turned out to be the old Sequential magic, and one that they’ve already covered, albeit with not so much focus on strict reproduction. It’s cool, though, I’m happy for the peeps that are excited. It definitely sounds nice.

Re: 5U adventure, activate

That's the great thing about the 11s, right? That flexibility and expansion potential. Right now it's 3x3. Currently I have it all pulled out from the wall to do the power distribution (only recently moved into this room after having it floored and painted).

Worth a mention. I have this, though I do find the hex layout has me stumped for the best way to organize, so my cables are all willy nilly. Someday I'll put more thought into it :) https://www.eurodesk-z.com/products/hex-25-1-4-modular-cable-hanger edit: It only comes with a single mic stand nut, s...

Geez, that sega synth is way too awesome.

I’ve recently been having a giggle at the “boing” notification sound that Slack added a bit back. Makes work more fun. Important emergency message from the director? Boing! Major bug found, hit the panic button? Boing!

Re: Hipster Gear Shot Favourites

I’ve always thought the “synths in nature” shots were less hipster, more “artsy fartsy”. It seems to say: I may be using a cold, electronic device, but as you can see, I am in touch with the natural; life, love, peace, and harmony are mine. My music is an extension of my enlightened, beautiful soul....

Re: 5U adventure, activate

Looks like I have a wonky box11 connector, so another brief stall. :guinness: When you see it all together you'll see I definitely have some head scratching choices. It's way short on VCAs, for one. I have some module redundancy for stereo voicing, which has an impact on overall space on a 66 that h...

Re: Para or Poly synth to compliment Euro set up...OB6, Pro 3, P12 experience?

Subjectivity is the overwhelmingly strong factor in any opinion. Someone could be the person who built the thing and I might still totally disagree with his opinion of it. Pedigree doesn't mean shit. Given that, my shitty opinion is: Matriarch, Pro 2 or 3, MatrixBrute, or Hydrasynth. You can't go wr...
