You may not know this but I am actually a drummer? :despair: I have used all the pads , multi-pads, triggers, you name it since the 80's. The Roland mesh pads are by far the best device I have used. They can be sloppy but they have 'the feel'. If your using it to trigger your modular, as I use to do...

My wife uses descriptions like' "too scratchy" or "too sharp".

Adding more reverb and delay usually satisfies her.

CMS65 user here. I can put in a 12 hour session without any fatigue, which was not the case with other monitors I've used in the past.

The young guns who come into the studio tell me to get a sub, but I'm doing OK without it. Then again, I don't "drop-da-bass" all that often.

This old thread! I went 5U and sold all my Euro anyway. Who saw that coming? I'm using a MOTU to get the CV to the 5U gear but a ES-3 would make things a lot simpler and cleaner. (Cough)

I also changed from Volta to Expert Sleepers. Digging the AAX plugs. Thanks

Also pure CV/GATE control from an analogue sequencer doesn't suffer from MIDI jitter. If you want (and can hear!) balls-accurate timing you will want CV and GATE. MIDI has no inherent jitter and there are plenty of awful CV/Gate clocks (actually, almost all of them from my testing are pretty sloppy...

I wonder how hard it would be to make panel kits for pedals that turned them into little modules? Like a third party business that just made do it yourself kits for this purpose? If it is only "Songs" you want to compose, that is the market Ableton is targeting. Repetitive sections, loops, etc is its specialty. However, the 'song' form represents less then 10% of musical forms. If you are interested in composing other forms of music, Logic (Cubase, ProTools) is the way to go...
