Re: Disting Feature Requests

Would it be possible to have a mode where you input a gate, and then set the probability of which output it comes out of? Sorta like the "shift register random gates mode", except rather than choose between "flip" and "don't flip" , you choose between "output A" and "output B" Also would love a "Br...

Re: Chord oscillator for pad purposes

Chord oscillators are often frustrating to me. I'm a classically trained pianist so I know how to play chords but having them in some arbitrary order is annoying to me; having to scan through them for the right one. I don't know how that'd be improved without losing some control, though. To me, the...

Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

OMG just found out about the Smooth Random addition.. I was mixing like 3 LFO outputs together for pseudo-random meanderings in my ambient patches, now I need only one! So pleased I held off on the Instruo øchd. This thing is an 8HP powerhouse. PNW is my go-to (I'm almost always exhausting all 8 ou...

Re: Frap Tools Brenso

Hey autopoiesis, I'm still wrapping my head around my Brenso - but tried testing out your 3 scenarios and here's what I observed: With integrator full clockwise, I was not able to hear or see (with Mordax Data - even though slew is difficult to 'see') any noticeable slew. Easing the integrator count...

Re: Disting Ex- Master of none?

Disting has several great algorithms, many good algorithms and a bunch of passable algorithms. The great ones are at master level and many of the others are well past good enough. Don’t worry about it. What you should think about is if the interface feels good enough for you. It does to me so I rea...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

I use Vector as master, but here’s what Jim says to do to sync it to PNW- “ For sync with the Pamelas New Workout, my recommendation is to have one out on PNW set to RUN -- connect that to RUN on the Vector. Set another PNW output to 24 PPQN, then route that to CLOCK on the Vector. Then set the Vec...

Re: Which Voice/Part For Complex Oscillator?

Thanks Peter and Lisa. Yeah, re: Sinfonion, only referenced that as it's multi-part quantization is what's encouraging me to use multiple voices (as many as possible), thus leading to the question of where to fit in a Complex Oscillator (Brenso in my case). Lisa - totally makes sense. With a CO, har...

Re: Which Voice/Part For Complex Oscillator?

Hi folks, as I'm experimenting with various workflows for Sinfonion, was curious how folks work Complex Oscillators into their overall voices/parts? CO as deep droney pad reinforced by a different Osc for bass and other Osc/sound sources as percussion and high lines? CO as the bass line with other ...

Re: What’s the deal with all the resonance?

Similar to saying what’s with all the distortion with guitar? Some “grow out of it”, some never do it to begin with, and some make it a part of their signature sound. On the demo/tutorial front, prob the need to show how far it can go, assuming folks realize it can always be dialed back.

Re: Frap Tools USTA

Hasn’t been much activity in here recently, how are people liking the module these days? Strongly considering one as my only in-rack sequencer, but hesitating due to cost. I don’t see many in racks on Instagram compared to NerdSeq or ER-101/102 sequencers. Is there any chance of an expander module ...

Re: Frap Tools Brenso

Just a hunch, but some may be from the Atmel chip used for the frequency coarse lock function (mentioned on previous page of this thread). USTA, that also uses this chip, comes in at 270mA - not super high, but noticeably higher than other large sequencers like Metropolis, Rene v2, Eloquencer, etc. ...

Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

While the black PNW is obviously sold out and I'd prefer not to have two anyway, I wonder if the blue screen could be made available to those of us who'd like to swap them out??? Great question. I’m red/green color deficient, and the difficulty in seeing the red led is the only thing keeping me fro...
