Re: Complex oscillators: Mindphaser, Brenso, Furthrrrr. Key differences?

This isn't gonna help... but... I have Brenso. I love it. It's my first complex oscillator, but I had been patching my own with oscillators/vca's/waveshapers before then, etc. As mentioned above, all of the attenuvertors and attenuators, along with of all of the wavefolding/shaping options, let you ...

Re: Skinny Puppy WHY?

On top of the great albums, you have to give it to Ogre for the stage theatrics. I missed seeing them in the earlier days, but got to see them on Halloween night in 2004 and it was just amazing. Ogre still put in a ridiculous amount of energy into his performance, costume changes, fake blood antics,...

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)

Just got my DM shipping confirmation. Oh happy day. Same here! Me as well. :omg: Same! I was a bit worried that adding another module to the order (RND STEP) might slow the process - but nope, Dan and the crew on top of things as always - shipment was just confirmed. Love the folks at Detroit Modul...

Re: Patch trick: turn your Maths into a complex formant oscillator like Mangrove

Now this is what I come to Muff's for... thanks so much for the patch idea! To the point above, not only so many textures between changing rise and fall, but fun to find notes/patterns that fall out of the squared window... here's a quick patch (using only the 2 squares into Math's) that creates a ...

Re: Skinny Puppy WHY?

I saw it mentioned in a thread from 2019, but if you're a SP/FLA fan, check out Ken 'HiWatt' Marshall's YT channel. Lots of great stuff. Back to SP- long time fan. They and FLA were my gateway from being primarily focused on metal over to more electronic leanings back in the early 90's. I totally di...

Re: Is Covid sorting the men from the boys? Re: Availability.

Funny thread. I'm in the "it's a miracle any Euro module makers survive" camp. GM and Ford just announced today they are losing billions off of the GPU/chip shortages. Toyota, Nissan, and others also feeling the chip shortage pain. If they don't have enough leverage...

Re: Cure for GAS?

Aim your GAS at modules that take a long time to get. I have orders out for Natural Gate, Piston Honda, and Black Sequencer. Knowing I have 3 modules "on their way" is helping curb gas for other modules. For better or worse, this wait is becoming longer than I had imagined, but good for slowing down...

Re: Erica Synths Black Sequencer

Black Sequencer fully replaced Rene2 (and even Hermod) for me but YMMV depending on what features you are using. For me the differences were not significant enough and the added features (e.g. just having a display) more than made up for it. Thanks for the feedback! I've got the Black Sequencer on ...

Re: Erica Synths Black Sequencer

Has anyone replaced their Rene V2 (as in, now that you have the Black, you're either going to sell or box up the Rene) for a Black Sequencer? Any regrets? I mean, I could keep Rene when I add Black. But I have other sequencing tools around, and really don't plan to keep Rene if I go for Black Sequen...

Re: What do you spend on monitoring?

Back of the napkin math - I'm right at about 10% of monitoring/treatment to euro spend. But if you include the guitars, bass, Matriarch I also run through - then single digits monitoring/treatment expense vs all other "studio" equipment. I dunno - feels about right. Echo all of the some cheap treatm...

Re: there is no ideal arrangement of modules

I started with a System Cartesian (black). Then started adding silver modules (too lazy to only find black modules, replace panels, etc), and quickly ended up with a random miso-mash of colors. Ignored the colors and went for a typical signal flow oriented arrangement. Then added a 4th Rackbrute cas...

You mentioned Pamela's New Workout - obviously it's a great gate sequencer unto itself. With that said, if wanting to add something a bit more hands-on (and to add further gates), checkout Intellijel Steppy.

Upgraded my old KRK's to Focal Shape 50's a couple of months ago. Around $1500 very well spent - instantly made my BIA split through Katowice into Belgrad and QPAS and Mimeophon and Desmodus Versio jams sound all that much better!

Revert, Clocked Delay, Precision Adder.

It's a pitty there's no gate delay, so I'm also using the clockable envelop at times.
