Re: FRAP TOOLS CGM modular mixer
I thought there was a way, albeit a very expensive one, to have an extra channel & group available to get 4 sends. Something with sending a direct out to another channel and having that channel send to two sends connected to a second group. Yes - As a scenario... you could use the Direct Out on Cha...

Re: FRAP TOOLS CGM modular mixer
Hello Muffs, please can you confirm this? If i understand the concept of the CGM Creative Mixer correct, i need 6 channel + 2 group and 1 master module to have a 6 channel mixer with 4 send and 4 returns for all 6 channels? Thank you You would not have 4 sends for all 6 channels. A channel can only...

That would be sweet! a 2HP breakout with 8 Post-VCA direct outputs (one for each of the stereo/crossfaded inputs).Whatisvalis wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 11:45 amThe only thing I'd like in addition on the QSC is a post VCA direct out breakout module.
I am sure that would have required another 10-pin header on the back of QSC.

And then, if I ever were to travel, play outside, or leave the comfort of my pandemic-era hermetically-sealed and climate controlled self-isolation tank, I could reconfigure CGM as either a two channel + FX with headphone outs (C2+G+M), or a 4 stereo channel with FX and monitor mix/PFL(QSC+G+M), or...

Re: Frap Tools QSC - Quad Stereo Channel Mixer
... I can fit a QSC, 2 C's, and a G & M in my current travel setup (2x Arturia RB 6U's). That should suffice, but I could really see bringing my MIDI synths into the mix through the CGM system. Hoping to score a QSC next month as my starter, then add the G & M this summer. Your plan is exactly what...

Re: Frap Tools USTA
what is "RUN 4" in PNW? Run 2 and Run 4 on USTA are similar in function to "RS" mode on Pam's Run input. On USTA, the difference between these two modes is the behaviour that happens when the run gate goes low. Back in April 2020, Simone and I spent a lot of late nights experimenting with the run/r...

...I think I see what you mean. It's not the H9 or Eclipse, but I get some of that Eventide magic-sauce at nearly a third the price of an H9 (I bought a B-stock unit, but the damn thing looks brand-new), and boy is it tasty. Couldn't be happier with this purchase! I just can't believe the level of ...

Re: Eurorack reverb recommendations
Aren’t there only a small handful of reverb modules out there anyways? Realistically, if you own an fx aid xl, you own them all. I’ve tried a lot and none really beat an Eventide H9 Erbe verb sounds thin and metallic, and Desmodus Versio sounds aweful when you’re feeding it CV; nothing useful comes...

Some kind of standalone cool synth box like an o-coast but with 1/4 inch in's so it has appeal to the guitar market as a kind of exotic pedal. No idea and no gas but it will be nice to sit back and enjoy the demos, synthluencer promos and puff for a week. Then it fades to nothing, the threads dry u...

I really hope they dont go the way of others (ahem... Make Noise), and make another box'o'trickz widget to litter your desk. Not that anything is wrong with what you can do with 0-Coast, 0-CTRL, or Strega. But it drives me crazy that one of the champions of Eurorack modular is making these things - ...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax
To combine envelopes you don't want to mix them - their voltages would be added - if two overlapped you would go well above 10V and clip everything downstream. What you want is a logic OR - which you can get from Intellijel Plog or the OR module, or in Mutable Kinks, and various other logic modules....

@studioutopia : Just tried your Complex OSC recipe with a pair of Dixie II+s, a Bifold, and a Quad VCA. Fantastically quick way to get some great, crunchy FM’d tones. I’m new to all this, but that was a great start! Thanks. Awesome!!! Glad I could spark something! You will be itching for a Rubicon2...

. . . but it is quite far in both control and results than a 259, Brenso, Mindphaser and the rest. I'm getting the GAS for Mindphaser... damn. Thanks again for that explanation! Re: Complex Osc vs alternatives
By the way, I have a Synthesis Technology E352. Is this a "complex oscillator?" It seems pretty complex to me! It's only a "single-VCO," but you can choose up to eight oscillators in the menu and can play dual wavetables from its 'A' and 'B' outputs (plus the two-OP FM), so I don't quite understand...

Wow! Great post! Thanks for taking the time to write that all up—very informative and a lot of information that isn't all that apparent to beginners. My pleasure. I used to be addicted to filters. All that mattered in a synth were the filters. 25 years of Sequential, Korg, Yamaha, Roland to Moog (n...

I started out with "oscillators". VCOs and things like Plaits. Then I got a Cš-L. That changed everything. I have since become obsessed with Complex Oscillators - Brenso, Dixie2+/Rubicon2/Bifold, Piston Honda MkIII, and I have a Hertz Donut MkIII on the way (oooohhh 3 oscillators in a cross-modulate...

Just a reminder, if you ever get stuck/bored - whip up a new set of 8 and modulate the XYZ!

How sensitive are everyone's mini-pot attenuverters für the wavefolders? If i put the wavefolder into the middle position to get an unfolded sine and feed a LFO i can't find a zero point where it isn't moving at all and the slightest adjustment of the attenuverter results in wild modulation of the ...

Looking forward to more innovative stuff from them. Strangely eno...

Frap Tools Brenso has CV control over everything (16+ inputs, not including the two V/Oct, sync, and the wavefolder gate), and 14 attenuverters... Basically everything on it has CV control. It is the most controllable module I have. Rubicon2 is great for having 4 attenuverters on its CV controllable...

Anyone know why the mute button on my Group module won't mute the group. I have it connected to a QSC. The mutes on the QSC work. I’ve been meaning to look into why this is - I assumed it was something to do with the lack of a Master module. I thought that might be it too. Manual seems to say it wo...

Going in with the MK3 :) Joey - thanks for the inspiration. After watching your video... you gave me some ideas... I used My INSTRUō Cš-L to provide FM to both wavetables at the same time - so I could get the Piston Honda putting out a huge, wide stereo image. After modulating the wavetables slighl...

let’s be fair, this is the really challenging stuff for some of us. My “research” has led me to believe that incremental improvements are the way to go.
