Re: Doepfer A-101-2 Vactrol Lowpass Gate

yep - i tried feeding then Rectangle wave in LFO mode and Audio rate - and it wasnt doing anything to improve or modify the sound positively - so i just canned the idea. So - technically still at square one regarding what those G1 and G2's are useful for :P hahaha. or at least i am yet to try it wit...

Re: Doepfer A-101-2 Vactrol Lowpass Gate

Try this one. Two voices, both from Akemie's Castle. Not the most extreme example, but subtlety is usually best. Doesn't feature the A101-2 though. My memory isn't good enough to remember which one that was. :ripbanana: https://soundcloud.com/cptnal/castle-quantussy tres cool :-) if you do anything...

Re: Doepfer A-101-2 Vactrol Lowpass Gate

Hi All, A bit of a necropost. But i figured - why not post in the only general thread for this module. MrBiggs touched on using the G1 ans G2 inputs, I understand the logic behind them - ie. If G1 is High ...one of the three LPG modes is activated, if G1 and G2 are both high, a different mode is act...

Built 3 of these for myself and friends several years back.
https://six4pix.net/product/lestrum/ very musical. Not capacitive touch though.... Uses a stylus.

Also did a cap touch teensy drum about the same time frame.
Thanks Phitar - it seems your username does indeed check out :P

Re: Wavefolder/Waveshaper Shootout

IMPORTANT: I've nearly two dozen VCAs on hand in my rig, which play a massive role in my wavefolder setup, as do mixers. Many wavefolders/shapers are very sensitive to input signal gain levels, as well as CV gain levels, and can be made to sound very different as the input gain level is increased/d...

Re: Wavefolder/Waveshaper Shootout

i have the A-137-1 and i really wish it was as "imeddiate" as the others in this video. i feel like it works and works well with LFOs doing wide sweeps and creates batshit crazy noise wich i love....but i'm struggling with gradual timbre modification/shaping for acoustic-ish lead sounds with it just...

Alix Perez gives a masterclass in how to "electronic" here...actually - every set he's put together in the last few years is a 101 in how to next level imo, not only that - but an absolute showcase in artists pushing the UK continuum as far as it can go in the present day: https://youtu.be/ht8ISiHrH80

i agree with Rex Coil that one song is a bit hard to call. i think there are brilliant songs within styles, that stand head and shoulder above the rest though. I really liked the point about the site-specific features of the Berlin techno sound becoming ubiquitous features of the "minimal techno" genre - I've heard the phrase "big room techno" before, but always just thought of it in terms of mass-appeal, ie simple crowd-pleasing stuff that attracts big c...

Re: Hi-fi Gurus: Stylus/Cartridge upgrade for an old Rega in 2020

i went through a tonne of youtube comparisons before settling on an Audio-technica VM750SH (sh denoting shibata stylus) would have loved to go one step further and grab the microline version - but the differences on the youtube comparisons werent big enough to warrant. Anyway - if you're looking for...
