I got something like that a couple of times yesterday on my iPad. Reloaded the page, and it went away.

Re: Ensoniq ASR-10 rackmount is very hot

I think foam would block convection and act as an insulator. If I do decide to drill holes, I have adequate tools to do a good job. I’m planning to continue using the open-frame rack it’s in now- I haven’t noticed excessive heat, but will be keeping a closer eye on things.. My rack is similar to thi...

Re: Ensoniq ASR-10 rackmount is very hot

Following. The keyboard version was my largest hammer in the mid to late 90s. Got a great deal on a rack a couple years ago, but it has button issues. I’ll be looking at possibilities when I have it open again. The obvious solution would be to drill some strategically placed holes to aid convection....

Future Retro's Swynx is another option, and also acts as a CR78 programmer. I haven't actually used one with a CR78, though.

Re: Studio monitor stands?

Don't attach your stand to the desk or you risk to transmit lot of vibrations to it... I was worried about that, but have had no problems. If vibration had been an issue, I was prepared to sandwich a layer of foam between the stands and the desk and put foam pads between the monitors and the stands...

Consider solidly attaching the stands to your desk if possible.

Especially if children or clumsy idiots will be around them. I probably qualify as a clumsy idiot..

Re: Noisy Waveforms on PNW ?

Having ‘Level’ set to less than 100% seems to make this worse- that basically acts as a bitcrusher. I leave everything set to 100% and then use external attenuators when necessary.

Re: Novation Summit - keyboard version of Peak

New firmware for Summit and Peak was just announced- maybe that’ll fix your glitches? It adds user wavetables plus a really nice editor for them. The editor can work just in the computer, or it can update the wavetable inside the synth in real-time, running the wavetable as part of the active patch....

Re: Eurorack Drum Machine

A big problem with Euro drum machines is mixing. Mixing lots of channels in Euro is always waaay more expensive than buying a vastly superior external mixer. Economy of scale and all that. A cheap used Mackie probably sounds better than many of the Euro options, and it has EQ. And FX Sends.. I have ...

Re: Jomox T-Rackonizer as a stereo filter

Rossum’s Linnaeus definitely does band pass. “LINNAEUS’s channel output response characteristics are independently and continuously variable from Lowpass, through Bandpass, Highpass and Notch, to Low and High Shelving characteristics. Voltage control of the response characteristics are independently...

Re: Jomox T-Rackonizer as a stereo filter

Wmd Mscl You probably mean WMD Overseer. MSCL is the compressor. There are getting to be lots of options for stereo filters. Rossum’s Linnaeus looks like another good choice if you wanted something less crazy than T-Rackonizer and with a single set of CV inputs that drive both channels. I don’t hav...

Re: Max/Min with CV controllable split level?

That’s awesome- I have a lot of your other modules, but apparently never paid enough attention to Samara 2. I just downloaded the manual, and I’m very impressed. I’ll be buying one (or more) ASAP. But getting the job done in 4hp is also quite valuable. If Ladik makes a version where ‘Split’ has a VC...

Re: Max/Min with CV controllable split level?

Yeah, that would be amazing! I love the Doepfer version, but hadn’t seen the Ladik. The ‘Split’ thing seems like it would be extremely useful.

Your best bet would probably be to ask Ladik to make a new version. You could mention that I’d buy at least 2 if that helps.. :tu:

Re: E-RM Polygogo

I’m not sure losing the screen would make it much smaller. It’s a super-thin single-PCB design, and there’s probably important stuff going on underneath the display’s footprint. However, it would definitely make it much less fun. Seeing what’s happening is very useful and makes it a lot faster and n...

Patina is apparently super sexy now. If you’re right, then actually playing the thing might make it more valuable to future snobs. :hihi:

I kinda doubt they’d do something that would show wear so quickly. They’ve gone way beyond what was needed (or practical) to make it beautiful.

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

It would be awesome if this thing had the option to run at ‘24 pulses per quarter note’ for people who can supply that.

24ppq is the same as ‘DIN Sync’, and is well supported by tons of modules. Far more precise than 16th note clock..

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Another option would be for you to tell it what tempo you’re planning to run at, and for it to believe you until it has heard 2 or 3 clock pulses that it can average together. Alternately, you could give it a tempo and set it to run on internal clock, use a pulse on the clock input to start it, and ...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

A sequencer that only outputs 16th notes works fine when starting on the first pulse of a 16th note clock. This thing can create ridiculously faster things than 16th notes, so it needs to ‘learn’ the tempo before outputting anything. Otherwise, it will output a garbled mess (or nothing at all) until...
