Re: Digitakt as eurorack sequencer? Or possibly Eloquencer w/ EME?

Can't speak to the Digitakt, specifically, but adding an FH-2 to my rack to sync and add sequencing / chromatic touchpad control from my Rytm 2 was a major game-changer for me. I typically only use one track of sequencing from it and do a hybrid Rytm / modular setup (I have an Erica Black Sequencer ...

Zing! You really got me with your tired old trope! Perhaps in your haste to stick it to me you failed to think that maybe not everyone thinks a feature request deserves an individual support ticket. :hmm: There's a section that's clearly marked for suggestions and feedback . I can confirm that they...

Re: Morphagene+Beads or Arbhar+Beads?

MG+Beads or Arbhar+Beads for experimental textures and varied approaches to granulation and sampling? hoping for not too much crossover and distinct results. I have Arbhar and Morphagene but not Beads. My take is that Beads excels less in sampling and more in real-time granular-ization. Morphagene ...

Re: Mutable Rings VS Qubit Surface

I personally have never liked the sound of the resonator input on Rings. What am I missing? Got any sure shot formulas for me? If you've got an Ornament & Crime, the Viznutcracker, sweet! app spits out some solid source material to hit a resonator with. Envelope that on the way in and go to town.

Re: Complex oscillators: Mindphaser, Brenso, Furthurrrr. Key differences?

Haha @studio460 I am RIGHT HERE with you on this one. I've been interested in and generally keeping up with the complex osc options out there for the last year or so. Until recently, Brenso was my prevailing choice: I like a fair bit of the sound examples I've heard; I think it's one of the most bea...

Re: Intelljel Metropolix

Boy am I glad I stupidly sold my Metropolis about 3 months ago! I missed its immediacy immediately. I'll probably pick this up, although to be honest the Loopop video kind of left me menu-dizzy. Question: does it look like you can chain two sequences together to get 16 steps? Maybe be decoupling th...

Re: Comments & critique, plz, rhythm box for synth accompaniment

Have you considered a different groove box / drum machine? Depending on how wild you're really planning on getting with the patching and modulating, something like an Elektron Analog Rytm (I have the v2) might actually be close in price and offer a lot more features (analog drums, analog synths, sam...

It's cool to see roundups of what people have that might not be as widely-discussed. Here are my three, in ascending order of ModularGrid popularity: L-1 Midside Discrete Microcompressor - My most recent acquisition, so I don't have gobs to divulge about it. My initial take is that it delivers on be...

Re: Cure for GAS?

Sometimes we tend to believe the illusion that just because it's "modular", we can modulate our way to the perfect system… and very conveniently, it happens to be a perfect excuse to pursue that dopamine kick. The reality is that non-perfect systems are the most enjoyable systems (in fact, they are...

Re: Chords on a Wavetable osc?

This, exactly is why I hit the wall. Need a longer waveform (think of it like polymetric sequences, if you have a perfect fifth interval, that's x and 1.5x, so they will reset after 3x length of a waveform. What actually is the difference between a chord waveform and a harmonically rich waveform, i...

Re: Chords on a Wavetable osc?

So, I've just tried it by making chords by stacking 256 sample sine waves in Simpler in Ableton, and...it doesn't work. Once the chord wav file is created, the length of the waveform needs to be about 8 x 256 samples to get a chord tone. Anything less than 8 times that starts sounding like a mono v...

Re: running marbles "steps" through external quantizer

how do you "turn off" or skip quantizing in marbles before getting to your sinfonion? Setting the Steps parameter to 12:00 produces unquantized outputs. The manual is pretty clear on that with nice diagrams https://mutable-instruments.net/modules/marbles/manual/ (see the STEPS QUANTIZER section).

Re: Regret worrying about hp?

I think it's a fairly common experience, especially when starting off, to think of the starting case as the physical bounds of what the system can contain. That's how I thought of it, anyway. I came up with the first group of modules I wanted to purchase (five) and then very quickly started extrapol...
