Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

An update to my Mimeophon situation: After putting the module in another case with a different strip, the clicks seem to have completely disappeared. I am still a bit confused, because in my original case (rackbrute 6u), I was under 70% of the total power consumption capacity with mimeophon racked u...

L-1 Microcompressor Stereo VS WMD MSCL

Does anyone of you have experience with both compressors? How do they compare soundwise? I have the L-1 and mainly use it to sidechain my mix against the base drum, nothing all too fancy. It sounds great. However, for my purposes, I don't see much use in CV controlling or fine-tuning any of the comp...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

i really love it a lot. Right now, I could spend days noodling around in the higher zones with slow modulation and that delicious reverb. However, although significantly less clicker than my previous unit, the clicks and pops keep appearing constantly without any recognizable cause. So far, the posi...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

Wanted to give an update on my situation. I have received a new unit from Thomann, which seems to work much better so far (although I still have some testing to do). While the older unit didn't react well in almost all situations, producing clicks even without any modulation present, the new unit on...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

Just wanted to give a heads up and inform you that the good people at MN reacted very supportively to my clicking issue. In fact, they offered me to inspect it at their headquarters for further troubleshooting (full shipping cost included), which I am only not doing because I live in Germany, and s...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

Crossfading or lack thereof might be a bit of the issue. If you have a buffer recording sound and that buffer cuts off it won’t be a smooth sound. Take an audio wav in a DAW and just slice it randomly somewhere. Now paste it over and over. Chances are certain types of sonic content will have a pop/...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

The problem that I am having with it is a frequent clicking/popping occurring throughout playback, which becomes more frequent as soon as one applies some modulation. According to the guys from MN, some of this can apparently be traced back when flipping the signal inside the buffer at a particularl...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

In my case, they replied immediately after my initial mail very politely, suggesting that they seem interested in solving that issue. Being a 100% certain that this is not a power issue in my case, I now had to record this clicks/pops and high noise floor via Video and send it to them. Will keep you...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

I recently bought a mimeophon from thomann and can, unfortunately, confirm the click/noise issues reported by other users :/. It happens in multiple different setups and occasions and is also a dealbreaker for me.

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler

this is very interesting. Being a giant fan of the module and a relative newbie at programming, I wonder where exactly the difficulties lie in merging two projects. As far as I know, having the possibility to merge two matrix-like objects is a common feature of many modern programming languages (an...

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler

Is there a way to merge different projects on the nerdseq ? Right now, I am working on two different projects separately, realizing that they should be unified into one single project.

Can you possibly add this info to the original post ? I am certain that there are more people interested in precisely that question!

Re: [SPLIT] Alternative Firmware(s) for Mutable Instruments Stages

I am uncertain whether or not this is answered in one of the previous 15 pages. But I wonder if the newest version of this firmware allows for two stages to be chained. I am aware that this was an issue at the beginning and wonder if it has been solved in the meantime.

Re: How to best achieve „custom“ clock divisions

Still, am I right to believe that „3/4 multiplication“ cannot be handled entirely within pams (without changing the master clock), but one of the operations involved (ideally, the division as you explained) must be outsourced ? I don't actually own Pam's, but from reading the manual it seems that y...

Re: How to best achieve „custom“ clock divisions

Thank you for your visual explanation. Coming from a pure maths background, its great to know some of the technical details behind the fact that mathematical operations aren‘t commutative inside the modular world (much like anywhere else in the real world): Order matters. Still, am I right to believ...

How to best achieve „custom“ clock divisions

Since I couldn’t find the answer to this question in any of the existing threads on clock divisions, I am deciding to post it here: I am currently tinkering around a jam in 120 bpm, where in the first part, I have the Basedrum play four to the floor and my hihat/perc play an 8th triplet groove. In t...

Interesting choice. In fact, since I‘ve been using QPAS in my patches, I believe that I could benefit more from equally elaborate, complex filters. Will Belgrad offer something filterwise which I cannot already produce with my other four ?

Re: How to fill in the last 14hp ?

You have a similar setup to me i.e. Digitone + Digitakt alongside eurorack and acoustic instruments. I also planned to make full songs but just jamming is so rewarding I haven’t really got round to that yet. You have a few more HP than me but I reckon with the VCAs and the mixup your A138s is enoug...

How to fill in the last 14hp ?

Hello folks, below you find my (soon to be completed) Eurorack setup. I work with 12U (6U * 89hp + 6U * 90hp). I use it in conjunction with Novation Peak/Pigments/DIgitone, as well as a Digitakt for Samples/Drum duties (which is why you don't yet see a fully fledged sample player in the rack). My pl...

Re: [SPLIT] Alternative Firmware(s) for Mutable Instruments Stages

For some reason, updating my stages doesn't seem to work. I did everything as instructed on the stages website, trying to play the update file into the last segment's cv input, keeping the LED button pressed with slider at mid position. Also checked beforehand that my line out is indeed playing the ...
