Re: Non-newbie intervention

I think I saw in another thread that someone was using a BeatStepPro as their clock so they did not need to invest in a clock module. I have a BSP, a Microfreak (which is actually a wonderful way to make arpeggios and sequences for my current portable/pared-down Eurorack, due to how small and lightw...

Re: Non-newbie intervention

...and a clock divider - possibly the rcd - and consider the expanders for the 4ms modules Isn't the Quad Clock Distributor a clock divider? I am guessing that once I connect the QPLFO and QCD, I can still use the expansions for them. Also, I am guessing that I could use the Turing Machine to clock...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Spent a bit more of my ebay haul...scooped up a Bastl Quattro Figaro for $120 including shipping on Reverb. My initial Eurorack setup did not include a VCA or an envelope (ASDR) because I was gonna use the ones on my Minibrute 2, and did not feel the need to spend on something I already had access ...

Re: Non-newbie intervention

Right now, I am getting some interesting stuff...really waiting for what I consider will be the heart of this setup: the TM and expanders and the two 4MS modules, plus the Chaotica. I think (hope) the rest will work cohesively around that basic source of gates/triggers. Really, I just need some vali...

Non-newbie intervention

So not strictly a newbie...I have been dabbling since right around the time Covid-19 hit. But the last few times I made a newbie thread, I got very few responses, so I am gonna try again with a few more modules and time under my belt. So the top row is what I currently own, along with with the two o...

Re: Noob question about Low Pass Gates

I'd stick with the Vactrol mix expander and see if you need more before adding. If you love the LPG shape and sound, consider adding a different active LPG like the dual one from NlC, RYO Optodist or any of the others available. For passive, the Takaab one is a nice change from DPLPG, and cheaper. ...

Re: Noob question about Low Pass Gates

So has anyone else used one of these? I am getting a single panel Turing Machine built, and am probably gonna have this thing as part of it. I know it is based on the Vactrol Mix expander, which I am having put in also. So is there any reason to not have one of each? Oops. Forgot to post the link to...

Looks good.

Someone is doing it for me. I am not making it myself, but I will post when it arrives probably mid-October.

What is the one on the far left?

Re: Any downside to an all-in-one Turing Machine?

I had a unipanel TM1 with Pulses and Voltages for a while. It was fine. I replaced it with a TM2 that I built myself. I still have it, but it’s not racked. My main reservation in 2020 is that Marbles is smaller, probably cheaper, and probably more generally useful. Depends on what you’re up to. htt...

Any downside to an all-in-one Turing Machine?

I am in the process of purchasing a custom designed Turing Machine with expanders (so far, so normal...you always see the main unit with the Volts and Pulses expanders), but am adding the Vactrol Mix expander, and possibly Worng's TMLPG, all in the same panel. The originally designed panel actually ...

Re: 4ms Quad Pingable LFO (QPLFO): Officially Announced Now

Sorry for the necro-ization. Just picked up one of these from eBay, along with the QCD. How well would this combo pair with a fully loaded Turing Machine? I am guessing I could take the Pulses' outputs, run them into the QCD, adjusting the clock divisions as needed/wanted, and then use those to affe...

Re: Disapointing Modules

peng33, I am glad to hear someone say this about the disting EX. Was considering ditching my mk4 for an EX, or getting a second mk4. I felt like the font on the EX was way too small. My eyesight has taken a big turn for the worse in the last six months. I'd rather deal with the known UI paradigm (f...

Re: Which Eurorack Module has the most patch points?

Most of the NLC modules seem to have either a large amount of patch points and/or a high ratio of patch points per HP.

Disapointing Modules Disappointing spelling 👆;) I love my Disting, and that thing gives me a headache from time to time. Small price to pay for all the good it does. It took six years for someone to point out that spelling error. Hahaha. As for the Disting, I was so happy and excited to procure an ...

Re: NLC Triple Sloth

Triple sloth has eleven outputs. And you will need to chain the whole QCD to get a seriously slow pulse. It’s kind of wasteful. QCD is better off doing quick things. https://elby-designs.com/contents/en-us/p739_ED120_-_Chaotica.html It actually has three outputs, and although I know one of the sell...

Re: NLC Triple Sloth

Hey, so a guy was seemingly downsizing and had put a bunch of his stuff on auction on ebay, and the auctions ended in a chunk last night and in a chunk this afternoon. I lucked out and scooped up a 4MS Quad Pingable LFO and a 4MS Quad Clock Distributor for less than $300 for the pair. So the LFO has...

Re: Turing Machine vs Permutation vs Marbles

Gonna end up going with a Turing Machine. Found someone who has a one panel unit for sale, with two Volts and one Pulses, and asked about building a Vactrol expander. He is gonna make one for me with the TM and the four expanders in one panel, for about the same price as people usually sell the main...

Re: Stereo Processing

The SoundStage is great for putting mono sources into the stereo field, but also look at the LRMSMSLR, which can be used for using mono FX in the stereo space. Both have been on my want list for a while. As I am still building my basic framework, other midpriced modules will come before SoundStage ...

Re: NLC's A Plague of Demons

Thanks for the help and input, btw. Happy to help, NLC is a gift in modular, always down to talk their stuff. If you plan on using marbles gate outs a lot and want more variety the numberwang could help. Definitely understand the temptation to grab modules at a huge cost reduction, but for a smalle...

In its place, don't ask me how that happened :despair: hahah.. So I just replaced it with a DG202 and now I'm getting the response I was looking for, which...
