Re: Best creative sampler vst
I've really been enjoying using original sounds inside of the iZotope's Iris2 sampler. Not sure how much it will run you though. You can't go wrong with the Abysnth, you can really pull some unbelievable sounds out of that thing if you really get into to it and learn how to edit each page, pushing i...

Re: Oscillators - point me in the right direction
I think you can do a lot with doubles of basic oscillators. Something that does a square, triangle, and sawtooth. With two of them you can mix and match sounds, cross modulate, maybe get metalizer and pulsewidth modulation going, all sorts of things really. Plus, if you are getting started, it's bes...

Re: How did you pick your sequencer?
My favorite sequencer is always going to be a computer running MAX and Sibelius, but I keep one Rene, a couple Varigates, a couple voltage blocks, and an eloquencer on hand, too. If I had to choose one, I'd just use the eloquencer because of how many functions it has compared to the others, but I wo...

Re: Wavefolder/Waveshaper Shootout
IMPORTANT: I've nearly two dozen VCAs on hand in my rig, which play a massive role in my wavefolder setup, as do mixers. Many wavefolders/shapers are very sensitive to input signal gain levels, as well as CV gain levels, and can be made to sound very different as the input gain level is increased/d...

Re: Wavefolder/Waveshaper Shootout
i feel the sweet spots are so narrow they're almost useless? :/ I could see that, Doepfer pots can have that sort of feel to them, a lack of fine tuneability so to speak. Not always, but they can. I'm considering the Befaco unit, the BASTL and the AJH. I don't think I've ever come across an AJH mod...

Do you own any of those modules? The V-shape? The Chopping Kinky? the BASTL?
What do you think of them?

Re: Best Drums (and other stuff?) for a Techno rack
Hax Inverter makes some pretty amazing modules for drum synthesis. I'd have a look at those and watch some of the demo videos. Also, This might sound crazy to some, but I'd personally prefer to have a dedicated oscillator, percussive envelope, filter, and sampler for kick drum synthesis in my eurora...

I am looking for opinions on the AJH V Shape, BASTL Instruments Waver, Befaco Chopping Kinky.
Anybody got strong opinions for or against any of these modules? Pros? Cons? Comparisons? Anything? haha

Re: Befaco Hexmix availability
I guess my question is, are people not selling because it’s really that great? Or, is it more a case that the full mixing setup is quite an investment and people are justifying the space in their rack because of how much they spent on it? I have the Befaco HexMix 6 channelVCA and I think it's amazi...

Re: Drone/Ambient starting rack
Just a disclaimer, I am not real familiar with your influences. Anyways, I'd add the XAOC vca's or a good mutable instruments vca clone. I'd also get some sort of function generator/randomizer, like the nanorand or wogglebug or maybe one of the ADDAC modules. The MATHS is good, but I also like chaos...

Re: How do you use your Eurorack?
I mostly use my eurorack gear as if it were any other piece of equipment in the studio. Just really another synth or set of synths rather, but definitely the best sounding and of the highest potential as far as what it yields. As far as actual uses, I will use it for everything, ambient patches, bas...

it sounded like the holes for the screws in your panel are in the wrong place so that your module takes up more space than needed - that is instructions on how to fix it - maybe i misunderstood your post! What do you think OP should get for the remaining 12hp in the percussion palette? I'm partial ...

Re: 12hp left in a percussion palette - effects?
What would you use on Monsoon? Oliverb? I think Oliverb is just for clouds, but that's a pretty sweet reverb. If you just wanted something for the reverb, you might consider the afterneath. Although, the clouds with the oliverb firmware would add more potential. I got one of those uBursts, and the ...

Re: 12hp left in a percussion palette - effects?
I'd get the Monsoon myself, that with the Squid Sample, that would be a killer combination.
I'm not particularly fond of multi-fx in modular format, I go outboard with stuff like that, you get way more for your money.

Re: Modeling Modular Synths with Wolfram Language
Fascinating post on the Wolfram blog today. There's some great info in there. This gets me thinking about how diff eqs could be used to create multipeak/multinotch, sweepable filters, I imagine it'd be a lot of work to get the bode plot to look like a complex city scape or outline of a mountain or ...

Re: 'Thinking Man' - new IDM/glitch album made with euro and Max - some production notes
Hi all: Thank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully have a listen to the new album. This is a set of 10 IDM/glitch tracks sort of like late-90’s Autechre maybe, featuring dense sounds and steady beats. This album was composed 90% on a Eurorack modular and then some post-processing was...

Re: is there a counter in eurorack?
Pretty sure what The Original Poster wants is something which outputs a staircase function that increments based a clock input. Options: 1)I don't know of a single module that does that but Barton has a module that does something similar: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/barton-musical-circuits-steppe...
