Re: Solder paste application, how do you do it?

Using a syringe is quite fatigueing. Using a stencil is probably best, but i am mostly doing singles and also it seems like you‘d go through a lot of paste that way. A powered applicator seems over the top as well. . not probably, the only way to do it properly short of printing it on. I do singles...

Hi,
I'm working on the Benjolin circuit and I was stuck without the bat85 schottky diode.
Can I substitute it with 1n5819/1n60p which I have ?

Thanks
If its just for reverse power protection, then yes. 5819 is used on Plancks II for that exact purpose

Re: Neutron sound Dust of Time.

What is producing the 3v3 digital signal, is it the Teensy? I am only getting 3v where it should be 3.3v, i.e. pin 24 on the 74HC4067DB. It's dead on 3.3v on the Teensy itself, though. I'm looking at the schematic but I can't see what the 3v3 source is. Wait, it says the ADP150 at U3 is supposed to...

Re: Advice on Encoders and OLED's

more importantly, look at the code in OC regarding the encoders. That will be waaaaay more important than what encoders you use. IDK of any encoders that have a 10mm working height that are off the shelf parts

yep same size. I looked into this a bit and it looks like they arrived at the same solution I did, just put a collar on the pots to beef them up

They look like the same pots but I cant guarantee that the fit will be identical and I'm not going to buy one to try it *edit there look to be 2 di...

Re: Noise Transistor “Selection”

... The match to sample was what I was afraid of. Does anyone have a good audio source for “the sample?” I am sure it was one of those things that after someone heard a few dozen of them, it was just a learned skill. Most of the service manuals seem to have an expected p2p voltage at the very least...

Just plug them in to the circuit and see if they give you enough noise to trim it to the right level

Re: Noise Transistor “Selection”

Even they confirm that "In one instance it was a 2SC536 and in the other case there was a 2SC945. Both were paint marked and obviously selected and matched for the purpose." which invalidates that the 828 was somehow the only part that gave the right result and that they stopped production as a resu...

Re: Noise Transistor “Selection”

The 828 used in the Roland gear was supposedly, correct me if I've read a rumor, a defective batch which specifically generated more noise or of a particular character. To duplicate that I hope one of the digital chip manufacturers can match that spectrum. If you socket the noise transistor pads in...

Re: Where to order small quantity of switching mini jacks

the switched jacks are used throughout. There is no, non-switched version of that jack, if the switch is used it will be routed accordingly on the board. Check and make sure you get the right one though, IIRC she changed the jacks at one point from the "earthenvar" on the very first ones to "thonkic...
