Re: How did you pick your sequencer?

One of my main reasons for going modular & out of the box, was to be able to be more immediate & hands on. I had some other hardware including a Squarp Pyramid & a Doepfer Dark Time (both now sold) & realized that I had the most fun with the DarkTime; the Pyramid was great, very flexible, but always...

Re: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Drone, but module advice/help needed

I'll third the Zadar. I'll 4th Zadar. It is great, you can make really slow loops right down to 30 min cycles! Voltage output per loop/envelope is configurable, so removes the need for extra attenuator modules. Only thing you might want is a module that can do negative offsets as Zadar generates en...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

@igorr is there any way to tell which shafts my 2 4hp modules have without removing the knobs? They came from 2 different batches. Would like to order some smaller knobs for one of them (the other is OK as it is the last module in the case so can get to the knobs easily). Thanks :) Only is the knob...

Re: Drone/Ambient starting rack

Hi all, Looking to get some modular gear together to make drone/ambient type music. Influences include Rafael Irisarri, Abul Mogard, etc. I have the following sketch planned out but wouldn't mind swapping in/out gear to better achieve my goal. I like the warm overdrive tones of the artists mentione...

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

Not yet. I have not removed the SD card or even played around with it that much since I got it. Bought 4-5 modules within a month or so to start this Eurorack journey, and the "plug and play" immediacy of everything else caused me to avoid the menu diving in the Disting until recently. Yeah, I get ...

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

Having the same problem with the module freezing up, as well as a few times in dual mode, the display for each side "bled" over to the other side, so each half was only displaying half of what it should have, or when "zoomed in" to the menu on one side, everything was shifted over and off center. H...

Can you have last state(algorithm, settings, z knob...) after power off and on?
Also wondering this! Hopefully it's something simple I skipped in the manual
Yes, there are multiple ways to achieve this. See Settings>General section in manual :)

Re: Expert Sleepers ES-9 USB Audio Interface

Hey all i feel the need to clear this up a bit. Turns out the ES9 isnt hardware calibrated so you can use plugins like "voice controller" to calibrate its ins and outs. I got a suggestion from the vcv forum to simply use a quantizer directly out of the es9 and its working for me at this point. Glad...

Re: Expert Sleepers ES-9 USB Audio Interface

Anyone else experiencing this? With nothing plugged into the es9, if i just virtually plug the first 4 "from device" outputs into any initialized 4 oscillators in vcv rack, they are detuned and dont track v/oct properly. I get the same detuning using "merge" and a "polyphonic" cable into any of the...

Re: Disting Ex- Master of none?

I am fairly new to modular, but been using music technology for a long time. I had a Disting Mk4 for a few weeks & struggled a bit with it. Then the EX was released & I bought one straight away. The difference for me as a Disting newbie was huge. The bigger screen, easier saving of presets, setting ...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Yes, MU format version is in plans and I hope to have some time to start its development. LoFi Junky was really done in stereo with video demo, but due to hard drive fail I expect it to be restored soon. If not - will borrow this module and will make my version again, no worries. That sucks. I high...

Are we eventually going to bottom out on the discovery of problems with this module? Or do they somehow go on forever? Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Bob, I've only focused on the verbs, so far, but I love the Reverb Chorale, which has nice usage of vowel sounds. In this video, I use it on a pad sound coming from the Nebulae. The mix in the early part of the video is dry, so you can hear the original sound. You can see/hear the vowel changing at...

Re: Qu-Bit Bloom

Sorry if I'm not understanding the thread, but what sequencer tunes your VCO's? Surely its normal to have them set to a common pitch first? Of course you need to tune your oscillator first, but then I would expect it to work like Intellijel Scales does. So that when I change the root of the scale f...

Re: Qu-Bit Bloom

Root & scales explained. As the manual is not very forthcoming, I have done a little experimentation to figure out how root/scales actually work & thought that I would share here in case it is helpful. Root is not actually the root note of the scale. This is important to understand. To demonstrate: ...
