Re: Instruo arbhar granular processor

I finally got an Arbhar and got around to making a recording with it. The basis for this is a 6 second recording of a yellow rumped warbler (yes, there is such a bird). The recording is processed through the Arbhar using two LFOs (pitch and sample) from the Instruo/DivKid Øchd, and some other modul...

Re: Another beginner rack, but not a musician!

Haha everyone is recommending Zadar! I am definitely a little intimidated by menu diving but honestly I think I should suck it up for this module as it seems everyone loves it and generating 4 envelopes with one module is really nice. The menu on Zadar is simple & very well thought out. I hate menu...

Re: Another beginner rack, but not a musician!

You might want check out Happy Nerding FX Aid as a small, but excellent effects unit (check out the thread on this forum to see how great people think they are). I can highly recommend Zadar. You might want to check out the new Nano Modules Ona as an alternative to Dixie. If you do decide to eventua...

So those who have tried the verb and delay firmwares, and this is subjective, but do you see yourself flashing back and forth, or is one a keeper?
The reverb is the keeper for me.

Re: Black Friday deals on eurorack modules?

For sure. Black Friday deals are only ever a bonus and it has been a tough time. I always try to buy from them either way. Go on - why them in particular? I’ve defaulted to elevator because of their stunning customer service, outstanding prices and guaranteed next day delivery. What’s the boon with...

Brilliant!

LOLZ, it's ingrained for me. I have been a software developer for 20 years, so have a habit of "if it's difficult, automate it".

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

It is indicated on the FX AID's page: "Reflashing procedure is quite easy: playing 40 sec long “wav” file of line level amplitude to CV input for 4 HP version or SRR input for FX AID XL." And you should check some other device, like mobile phone. Your description says nothing about actual time you ...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

I can't for the life of me figure out how to update the firmware on the XL Everything online refers towards a 4hp installation, saying just stick it into the CV jack, but Im finding that on the XL it has to be fed into the SRR input.. right? Anyways, Im playing the file back at 48 Hz, track on Able...

Re: Frap Tools USTA

Thanks! USTA is running in standard Pattern Mode. For instance a 6 pattern loop drives the BIA, a 14 pattern loop the Ensemble Oscillator. What I like a lot about USTA is the possibility to make one stage 2, 3, 4 or more steps long and then divide it with ratcheting to get triplets or quintuplets ....

Fantastic :sb:
If you have time, I would love a bit more detail on your Usta programming in this patch please? :) e.g. What is changing the patterns, is it standard Pattern Mode or are you advancing patterns with CV?

Thanks

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

You have reinstalled the old version. You need to disable antiviris protection for the FX AID’s web application, so it is not blocking firmware download to your device. Stand alone app need some time to be run in background to selfupdate the effects. Thanks Igor, I don’t have an antivirus, I’m on S...

Re: Experience with the Disting EX? Is it fun?

I swapped mine out. Too much menu diving/having to read manual to see what parameters do, it's not how I personally want to use hardware. FX Aid is awesome, the algorithms are top quality, I have 2 in my rack. If you are specifically looking for effects, FX Aid is the better choice.

Usta without question. I swapped my Rene 2 out for an Usta & Usta can do so much more, I find it much more inspiring. It is really easy to generate happy accidents with Usta. It has a bit more of a learning curve, but it is so worth it.

Agreed. I'm just about to get rid of my Disting EX. I find that the menu diving & having to remember what the controls/IO do doesn't suit my flow, so I end up never using it. I much prefer focussed modules. Mine is just a sample player- it's smaller than the sample player that I used to have, and o...
