while you can browse Muffs and find a thread with filter recommendations every month, the question how to choose, I would say, basic differences are: Signature sound (f.e. Moog, Oberheim, Roland, Arp, Cwejman, Serge, ...), topology (ladder, diode, ota, sallen-key), lp/hp/bp/notch/multimode/allpass, ...

Re: L-1 Quad VCA vs Quad Discrete Blacksea VCA

I have the That version and it is clean / transparent.
Anyway, audiophiles won't agree, as VCAs always degrade the sound - and I am wondering, too what's the difference soundwise?
There is also the Studio Electronics descreet class-A single VCA.

Re: Euro-Serge System

While its easy to cut 1hp on each side, you could even design a new panellayout in cwejman spacing of pots and i/o per HP and place the main PCB vertically. Not skiff friendly. I would suggest to add a third 84 row instead! 3 rows are still ideal in overview while crosspatching and 19inch are future...

The only thing you can trust is first hand experience. People are biased, people are excited, peopled don't know better and/or are fanboys and wear the relevant goggles. There's all kinds of issues. Instruo — Premium What makes it Premium? I know people currently rave about them, but I don't belive the hype. While I do like their HR Giger style, the mini-trimmer-knobs and faders and wild combinations of functions holds me off. Are their designs made by themselfs or are they copys of vintage ci...

Re: Oscillators - point me in the right direction

There is no right or wrong. Something thru zero plus something digital is a good idea. Here at the West-Coast everything oscillates. You get sinewaves out of filters and so on. Buying and selling are part of the journey to discovering what you like This depends: there are pople who buy and sell all ...

Hi, I am wondering if there exists a solution for jitter-free midi input? Expert Sleepers midi USAMO ect is OUT only. I am looking for the IN-part. Is CV-Keyboard > Audio-IN the only jitter-free way? (I am keen of very precise timing, < ms, no jitter at all, as it would make my performance washy.)

The diode filters are a whole different story to the CS-8 series, you can't really compare imho.
Thy are sounding very very very beautiful.

How would you patch a looping EG or looping function generator with the DTG?
Any idea how to self-retrigger it? With some utility module?

There are a lot of top shelf synths that don't have the specs you're asking about. Specs that are super important to one person aren''t to another I agree.
