Re: The 2021 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

Hopefully these images work, a couple of through hole boards I had spare that I soldered up using SMT where possible, just for the practice. https://scontent-lax3-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.2885-15/e35/s1080x1080/150504845_243886203869110_3935309536271835206_n.jpg?_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.cdninstagram.c...

looks good, I just built the eurokastle and was looking at the drum firmware, interested to see how your version works in comparison.

Here are my latest Lego stuff...
I almost went full duplo when i started out, was trying to do something 'original' but in the end I failed to resist the convince of euro.

Made a duplo teensy midi controller for a friend though, so it wasnt a totally wasted effort!

Re: Eurokastl Drum Firmware

Check out the github. https://github.com/bastl-instruments/kastle I played with some of the alt firmwares awhile back. just got my module working and looking at other options since its too late in the day to fire up the speakers. there's a hell of a lot of hex(es?) on that repo, do they all work wi...

Led is in the right way.
Not an LED, just a normal diode.

Re: Need help: issue with 16n Berlin Modualar, AtoVporoject

I have a similar LED issue with another module, I was told it could be because a diode was in the wrong way, but in my case it wasnt the problem. As for the other points, you are ahead of me on the build, so I may have the same issues when I get there. Did you try contacting pusherman for some CS, m...

Out of interest, what have you done for the front panel? Did yours come as a kit?

I've never really paid much attention to the eurokastl, but it's looking very interesting. Apart from the standard shipped firmware, and this drum variant, what other options are there?

Re: Need help: issue with 16n Berlin Modualar, AtoVporoject

I have little technical experience, I'm just joining the dots and learning bits as I go. There is a forum thread for the original 16n over on https://llllllll.co/, and theres some discussion about the AtoV variation so maybe take a look there, although it does seem more focused on dev rather than tr...

Re: Need help: issue with 16n Berlin Modualar, AtoVporoject

Great! I actually helped someone instead of being helped! The layout of the 16n looks pretty easy to trace where the issues could be. Just follow the trace back to see which chip and set of resistors are potentially at fault.

Re: Need help: issue with 16n Berlin Modualar, AtoVporoject

For the TH connexion you are talkin about these one ? a soler point on the top ? yeah, but to be honest its unlikely to be an issue, I've just seen people give the same advice on other threads. Thinking about it, since you aren't getting anything from any of the pots, it must be something that has ...

Re: Need help: issue with 16n Berlin Modualar, AtoVporoject

your soldering looks perfect, much cleaner than mine on the same board. The only thing I could suggest is make sure there's solder on the top of the points in the TH connections for the sliders. I've been building the alps version and I tested it with just one slider installed which worked. So, cons...

Will it have an Eurorack power connector or is it designed as a standalone module?
judging by the USB socket at the top, I'd guess at stand alone, but it would be great if it was possible to put a panel on the front and put it in the rack too.

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

Have you checked the output with a scope? I suspect if you do, you'll see the waves are chopped in half. Check the orientation of your diodes, and I suspect the one for the negative rail will be the wrong way round. Thanks for your input. I followed your advice and checked the diodes to the .brd fi...

Re: Open sourcing some modules

Cool, be a little careful with this one - it has a couple of issues that I noted in the README. If you want to try and fix them up in Kicad I'm happy to take pull requests! You should also be able to just use the board as it is, cut a few traces and add wires to the proper points. I'm planning on d...

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

This problem came up a few years ago but seems it didn't get resolved, so maybe someone can help this time... I built a Links, which worked fine, was feeling one step closer to doing a big momma mutable, so I decided to do another links since I had a spare set. This second one seems to work ok, but ...

Re: ARCANE A Generative Chiptune FM Drum Synth

No, not really. Once you have control of the yamaha via arduino or some other microcontroller it´s totally feasible to add cv/gate. Point is that you need to control quite a lot of parameters at the same time, so you either need something like 8-16 CVs or some kind of macros to make any sense of it...

Re: ARCANE A Generative Chiptune FM Drum Synth

Love this (and the glitch storm!)
I've been looking around the sdiy scene for almost a year and I've seen very few of these kind of retro chip devices that utilise CV / gate for eurorack integration, is there a technical reason for this?
