mostly replying to dot this. last year i had two ~$1000 pieces come in from overseas (australia + netherlands) and didn't have to pay any import duties at all (with the full/correct values noted on the customs form). had a piece from japan ~$800 arrive in Jan and no customs on that either...

Re: New Elektron Teaser

Was there ever an official Overbridge release? Or is it still in beta? Still beta, so maybe they'll also take it out of beta. Hopefully also adding OT support so we can send audio over usb, and all that stuff. Octatrack on Overbridge is not gonna happen, unless they release a new hardware version. ...

Re: VOCU VTE-2000 Japanese Tape Echo

Yes - I figured it out - it does need modification to self-oscillate as normal operation always engages the erase head... I kinda like being able to use it cranked with no fear of runaway self-oscillation, so going to keep it as-is :guinness:

Re: VOCU VTE-2000 Japanese Tape Echo

I finally found one of these in great condition and it seems all good. However, when the echo repeat is max it does not self-oscillate (echoes always go away) - anyone know if that's how they should operate or should it be able to self-oscillate?

Re: New Korg MS20..in kit form??

Am I reading this correctly, a reissued version of the original MS-20, without the option to toggle between filter versions, PWM or mods that the MS-20M had? Why can't they just issue the ultimate version already? There is both filter revisions available apparently... But yeah, a bit pricey. Well, ...

Sounds good enough for my use. Instant pre-order. That’s insane... What the hell is that on the wall? Looks like a huge synth with built-in speakers. Could it be a show floor prop? Korg MS-20 educational version - https://www.matrixsynth.com/2007/03/korg-ms20-educational-edition-and-das.html

if you want some automated lathe-cut lps (which sound pretty bad, for the reasons people have posted), get em done without buying a machine: https://kunaki.com/vinylrevolution.htm $24 per LP (which are full 12" size, and with a full-color sleeve of questionable print and material quality), a fun gag...

I got around to trying out the newest Overbridge (https://www.elektronauts.com/t/overbrid ... 102174/101)

and hot dog, it finally works for me! :goo:  :goo: :yay:

All tracks streaming perfectly into the DAW... also frees up 2 inputs on the mixer/interface!

In case, you may need to completely uninstall OB and reinstall it. That was a common fix in previous versions when they didn't see the connected instrument (at least based on my reading of the forum). Mojave is a bitch. Oh yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled it a half dozen times, looking at all per...

Regrettably the macbook pro only has USB-C ports, so I have to use an adapter/hub. Everything else that I have which isn't USB-C works fine with the hub (including using Elektron Transfer + C6). Perhaps I'll order the Elektron USB 2.0 cable in case there could be some issue with the 2.0 cable I curr...

Soooo new firmware update that includes per track scale (aka true polyrhythms)! Excellent... Also Overbridge compatibility built right into the official (not beta) firmware. However, there is still zero trace of the digitakt showing up for me, using Mojave 10.14.5. Anyone here have any luck getting ...

Every time I try a new delay I keep going back to the Eventide Timefactor. Great layout, great sound, each setting has its own unique uses, save presets, CV-in control. Has been a solid workhorse for awhile for me.

Would be wonderful to be able to hear a sound quality shootout, but don't think that will ever happen. I own the Radius 4 (no V) and have worked with most of the popular Xone models. Mastersounds is the clear winner for audio quality, no contest. If you are happy with Mixwizard level quality though...

I keep looking for similar hardware and I even keep debating between analogue and digital. The SSL Six is a sweet option. Small and digital the QSC Touch Mixer range could be worth looking at. Yeah, I checked out the model 1 but at $3200 and no USB out, that's a tad bit out of my price range. Really overkill since I won't be doing any actual DJ'ing... Nor am I paid enough to really justify that (live set up is basically digitakt + gr1 ad some effects).

Small high quality mixer recommendations?

So, it appears search isn't working and the mixer threads I found by clicking through didn't cover this exact use case... I've been using a Keith McMillan Kmix for a couple years, and while I love the small size and built-in USB, the built in compressor and eq definitely leave something to be desire...
