Re: Put your Album Release into this Thread!

Hey all... Silber Records released my latest, "Sans Fixer", this weekend. This is what they have to say about it: Drone ambient. Minimalist. Hopeful melancholia. Like a lost piece of Brian Eno's 1970s catalog, Chvad SBs San Fixer defies easy categorization while putting you in its own unique world. ...

Re: The Tempest Is Dead, Long Live The Tempest

The Tempest just sounds dope. It's not a sampler. Being being stuck on that... I don't even understand the point in mentioning it. It was never going to have user samples. It's a completely non-existent argument. It's a synth. It's a synth with a ton under the hood. It's a lot to work through. It's ...

Re: Really annoying basic behavior of some digital gear.

Never bothered me. I always overwrite "first patches" to a default blank template anyway whenever possible to program off of. If I need a synth to go back to anything I just drop in a program change and call it a night. Live? Program changes all day long. My hands are usually tied up on the keys so ...

Re: Small standalone effects box?

Zoom MS70CDR is indeed great for the price and easy to use. My go to for effects recently has been the Organelle. Loads of patches/parameters too and it can sample sounds or be used as a standalone poly/mono synth. another voice for this. what it does for the price is nuts. stereo ins and out. just...

Re: Tempest vs. RYTM...shoot!

" -dedicated clap engine for richer claps" Tempest has a ton of envelopes all the with the needed parameters to make fantastic claps. Just an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfkXyb6P_Pc "tempest is pita to program Fact" The Tempest is just mad deep. The more under the hood... sometimes it s...

All good points and I also agree. Like you I ordered when they were both barely announced ideas. Both expressive. Both cool in a myriad of ways. Both their own character for days... and that's a thing. Its a pro and a bit of a con. No worries though. Both are fantastic to own use and touch.

Every live show I engineer has different setups so Im constantly taping and removing and replacing over and over: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1074291-REG/devek_at_1_1_artist_console_tape_1_x.html That's the stuff. Good on gigs. Good on gear. I've never had it fail me. This isn't for tacki...

Re: Handheld Recorders for Sound Design

Your welcome and regarding the H1 and your co-workers perspective... I don’t disagree. There is absolutely an extra layer of consideration (and gear) to be taken into account with the larger units. Using the H6 without a softcase/bag would, for me, suck. So just having a pocket device to flip out on...

Re: Handheld Recorders for Sound Design

So here's my two cents. You mention access to better gear but I'm just writing in whole thoughts so if any of this is redundant to your post I apologize. My day-to -day job has me in front of a huge variety of mobile recorders so here's my take on the ones you mentioned: Zoom H5 + SSH-6 - $400: The ...

Re: TRS/TS cables

It depends on the device. You aren't getting any benefit in any case. The VCA is unbalanced out and the Tascam is unbalanced in. Use an unbalance TS cable and you should be fine.

Gah.. turns out thats for a different/newer it seems, revisions. My PCB looks like this. SO I guess I'm looking for a revision 2 instruction set as there seems to be some pretty big differences between the two.

New sample pack: Good Morning Audio! 606 Sample Set

Hey all, I just finished my first "commercial" sample library and figured I'd share here. Anyhoo... the deets: This is a Roland TR-606 clone recorded through an API 3124v preamp a...

Re: Best way to enhance my electronic drums

I picked up a Circuit Mono Station when they were clearing them out a little while back. Lately I've been putting most of my drum machines through it and I've enjoyed this more as a FSU box than the synth it was meant to be. Aside from having to work mono, you've got three distortion types to play w...
