Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

I have three work stations I'm using at a time so I'm definitely swapping to other stuff when things are launching and what have you. A lot of my work is live broadcast oriented so the deadlines range from every 15 minutes to every hour to every other hour and so on. Not just say.. a deadline for o...

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

You must be ignoring that Behringer have a large following who doesn't dislike them. Selling to one's existing customers is a smart move. If what Dubonaire proposes is true, even more so. These new members of the musicTribe are not posting here. They're solid B-fans and likely can't wait for whatev...

Consider writing off a decent computer against tax?

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

Yeah but it's still pretty heavy/slow to launch. On my system Ableton from click to start is around 25 second. Similar to Pro Tools. Reaper is up in generally less than 4 seconds. I know this'll vary from system to system and all but very few programs are as light and fully featured as Reaper. I am...

It's geared more towards recording than composing.
Disagreed. All of these platforms are non-linear. The idea that any of these is better for composing over the other just seems off to me.

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

Thing is Reaper is practically free and full featured. Cakewalk IS free and full featured. Stuff like Traktion Waveform is interesting and cheap. Both are highly developed. Not sure why anyone would be remotely interested in a Behringer DAW. Seems like any angle they could hit already exists elsewhe...

Re: Novation Summit - keyboard version of Peak

It wasn't so much the action of the keybed overall but there was just not even playing surface. you could see and easily feel the difference in height from key to key. it was a little crazy. I don't even complain about the keybed for my Lead 4 and people love to hate on that. Im pretty mellow with s...

Re: Novation Summit - keyboard version of Peak

I'm pretty sure I posted this in some other thread but the Summit keybed was wildly uneven on my first Summit, and the replacement for that Summit. After the hassle of two returns I gave up on the synths. Sounded cool though.

Re: Pulsar-23 by Soma

i bought mine directly from Soma. I had to email them as it wasn’t in any stores i could find. What are your impressions thus far? As a huge fan of Controlled Bleeding and of your own work, I’m anxious to hear what you do with the Pulsar 23. I will likely order one from Perfect Circuit now that the...

100% on Soma being attentive. Great to work with! Also... my fable Pulsar 23 Decksaver just landed today. My cat is super happy that those pins will no longer be stabbing his feet.

Just released some free drum sample libraries. Dig in!

Hey y'all, I made a couple of sample libraries. One set is a TR-606 clone pumped through some API pre's and the other is all the presets from the Jomox Airbase. There's a third set of all of the Kawai K1 single cycle waveforms but that's been out for a while so nothing new there. Grab them here: htt...

Re: Novation Circuit Mono Station

The second distortion I find to be super subtle. I use my CMS more as a multi-fx unit for other boxes than it's own synth. I think it's nice on drum machines... i think the distortions shine here and using the sequencers to effect stuff rather than sequence notes. I like the synth engine but with a ...

Re: Favorite Multitimbral VAs?

If Novation brought out the Nova module again with 48 note polyphony, knob-per-function, full MIDI In/Out/Thru ( 5 pin DIN ) and outputs for all 6 voices, I'd be right on it and I reckon a lot of other people would too. Yes, I know the Circuit has two Nova-style voices built in, but having to use C...

Re: Favorite Multitimbral VAs?

Another Nord Lead 4 recommendation. I had an Ion for years.. and if wasn't for space issues I'd still have. Great synth. Between the two, the Nord, while somewhat limited by comparison, has a significantly higher polyphony and it's light years faster to edit on. It was a synth I bought specifically ...

Re: Clavia Nord Wave 2

I mean I like my Lead 4 but look at the regression between the Lead 3 and 4... Clavia has issues with de-evolition i think. Great knobs that are easy to read? CHECK. Display? CHECK. Lost of other good stuff? CHECK. OK GREAT... now, lets get rid of ALL of it and make it like the Lead 2.

Re: New Novation / Aphex Collab Coming Soon ???

So, can I get all of this by flashing a bs2 with afx station firmware, and adding a new panel sticker? The part I don't understand is that you've BEEN able to do this for, I'm guessing, more than a year now? My BSII does it. My Circuit Mono Station does it. I can't comprehend how some incredibly mi...
