Re: Metron/Voltera Vs. Varigate8+/VoltageBlock

Thanks for your insights everyone. Seems like Metron is a precise composition tool and Voltage Block is a happy accident machine. I'm leaning more toward the Voltage Block without the VG8+ at the moment because I don't need 8 gates for my small system. I can create gate patterns into VB with Pam's &...

Metron/Voltera Vs. Varigate8+/VoltageBlock

I'm eyeing a listing in the forums of a Metron with two Voltera for sale and looking for opinions on Metron vs Varigate8+ with Voltage Block. I searched the forums and found some minor comparisons in the Metron thread and a few others, but I think these combos are popular enough to explore it as an ...

Re: ES-9 input 1-14 directly routing to Buses

I sometimes use my modular with ES-9 in standalone mode (with no computer connected). I have a default setup that routes H/W inputs 1 to 8 to both the main out and the headphone out. ES-9 is my favorite module. It's absolutely amazing with Ableton or VCV, but sometimes I like to wiggle without the ...

I have very limited experience with sequencers, but I really like Qu-Bit Bloom. It's possible to program your own sequence, then let Bloom generate variations.

Re: osc / filter / distortion acid combination

after spending a few days w/ the TD-3 sequencer, i have to admit that even though it's nearly impossible to 'compose' music with it, that actually helps me, because everything i 'compose' is trash. So i just end up stumbling around until i find something nice, which was the goal of going full euro ...

Check out Acidlab m303 for the classic acid voice and filter. Distortion comes in many flavors. Maybe one of Noise Engineerings Ruina series would be a good fit for you? Re: Best looking single origin Eurorack (aesthetics only)

XAOC is probably my favorite aesthetics, followed by Befaco and Erica Synths. I dig the almost scientific, logical and clear layout of these manufacturers. On the opposite of scientific appearance I love Make Noise. Frap Tools and Instruo is a nice in-between super creative / scientific. If I were t...

You've got my attention... I def would give it a try if you're willing to share the wavs.

Have you checked out the Waveedit utility? http://synthtech.com/waveedit

Paperkettle & Bsmith wavetables

Are wavetables from the old Paperkettle and Bsmith ROMs available anywhere? I'd love to load them on Piston Honda MKIII They are so unique!

Oh gotcha... Audio FROM the computer I hadn't considered. Ableton can only do 1 audio interface for output.

So looks like ES-9 or ES-3+ADAT interface are actually best options for me.

Re: ES-9 vs ES-8

I'm considering both too and the ES-9 looks amazing, but maybe ES-8 is better (for my needs) due to expansion with ES-3 / ES-6? My goal is to have a bunch of computer controlled modulation OUT of Ableton to my small modular. Inputs on the ES-9 are nice, but I would mainly use for audio (hardly ever ...

The Foundation looks awesome and really powerful. Sounds like you are after something more complex, but the Doepfer A111-5 may be something to consider for a starter system. It is essentially a modular Dark Energy. It would fit nicely in the A-100 minicase next to a MIDI/CV converter or Expert Sleep...

I love the simple and clean "Ableton" or "FAW Circle" style, but I also really appreciate the "Reason" and "Apple" aesthetic.

Reason and Apple both make software that looks like the familiar hardware they intend to replace.

Huge improvement either way!

i came to modulars thinking it was all about analog and my system ended up being at least 60% digital. this, above any and all experience with other gear is what convinced me that interface is way more important than signal path. I also became interested in modulars for analog sounds, but after res...

I've been interested in this for a long time, but even after searching the forums found very little information. The video demos available are lackluster.

I'd love to see a video or hear some samples.
