Re: Vermona DRM1 MKIII --> MKIV ?

Cool news! Seems like a reasonable upgrade, keeping the instrument fresh and relevant :) Wondering about the sound changes.

Re: Recommend a reverb unit (rack or pedal) for ambient?

My only reverb is a Mooer Ocean Machine, and it does sound good (as well as being extremely powerful), but it's so fucking complicated, it's often just not worth the trouble. Probably gonna try to sell it. By the way, I performed the stupidly-obscure firmware-mod so that the original bug has been f...

Most excellent. Will listen to more tomorrer.
Thank you very much! It was a really cool project and I look forward to deform and rearrange other sound sources with those instruments in the future :D

Re: The big LepLoop, ArpoLoop, Arpopone, Lumanoise & Multicassa Thread

Yeah, I don’t think there was any real talk about quality issues at all. There can always be a bad unit or even a bad batch of any synth. What’s important is how the manufacturer handles those situations and while I haven’t had anything bad happen to my LepLoop devices, I’ve already known Tony to be...

Re: Gotharman's Little deFormer 3

While I must admit that I haven’t fully comprehended the kind of audio effect this variable sample rate feature would result in, I’m not sure if I will reach the deformation limits of the LD3 any time soon :D There’s already so much stuff in there and I was very happy with the recent updates which b...

Re: Gotharman's Tiny LD

EDIT: Actually, the Tiny LD lets you string samples together into one long sample with chop points. So you could in fact load up to 64 samples from a multisample library into one sample slot (as a single long sample with chop points) and then probably assign each chop point to a key. That’s somethi...

Re: Gotharman's Tiny LD

1) So we have 16 parts that are assigned to any of the 8 audio busses. So the 8 busses are what limits the polyphony to 8 voices? No, the busses are like audio mixers, of which you have eight. 2) What happens if I use 1 of the 16 parts to play a 3-note chord and send it to audio bus 1. Does that me...

Re: The big LepLoop, ArpoLoop, Arpopone, Lumanoise & Multicassa Thread

Interesting Thoughts, thank you. I am really on the fence about it, but now leaning towards a no. Just got the price and it would almost be $800 USD with shipping to US. Oof, yeah, that’s a lot. I think the price is probably justified for a small manufacturer and a unique instrument like that (I do...

Re: Gotharman's Little deFormer 3

I just read the update manual and was happy to find information about the new analog filter board in there. As suspected, it's based on the SSI chips :sb: I've got the dual SSI board in my TinyLD already and it's really versatile with the different filter settings. VCF10 Filter Board This update wil...

Re: The big LepLoop, ArpoLoop, Arpopone, Lumanoise & Multicassa Thread

Yeah, the user interface can be quite cryptic. Once I understood it though it was fun to create weird rhythms and melodies from scratch though. It’s like a modular synth sometimes, but with switches instead of patch cables. So you can very quickly change the sound in drastic ways. It’s definitely on...

Re: Gotharman's Little deFormer 3

My top feature request is still a conventional swing option for all tracks (note + controller). This would be huge. I think there already is a global swing parameter, but I’m not sure if one can add a static value to it as a source just dynamic ones like LFOs. I need to look into that again. EDIT: ...

The new filters are great! I’ve been using them on my Ukulele album too and especially liked the Tube types  The neutral SVF types are also cool when a sound requires a bit less presence/character.

Re: Gotharman's SpazeDrum

[Am I seeing things or are you somehow muting and unmuting tracks without holding down the Func/Mute button? Yes, you can set the mute/step modes to “latch” in the common 2 setup menu. After that, the buttons will cycle between trigger/func/mute and trigger/step/part. It’s my favorite setting for p...

Re: DIY plug-out synth

I like that Axoloti has quite an established library of building blocks for patches, reminds me very much of Nord Modular in a way. Yes, there is sooo much info and a very helpful forum community. It‘s very easy to get going with it. It‘s not as powerful as a full-fledged mini PC with a DAW and VST...

A standard PC or Mac is inexpensive and powerful and can be used for other things.
Yeah, that’s true of course. Even a five year old iPad could run a lot of cool music apps, which could be mapped to a midi controller.

Re: Gotharman's SpazeDrum

That's genius. Thank you for sharing this idea. Yeah, I’ve never used all 16 Parts, so I thought I can utilize the empty ones for stuff like this :D My next idea is to copy the Bassline part and change the portamento to simulate something like the 303 per-step pitch slides. I won’t be able to use t...

Re: Marienberg VC Envelope Generator B (an ADSR Laboratory)

This thing is fantastic. Is there a known ballpark for pricing? I am sure it's probably a bit spendy but I've been thinking of getting a couple more EG's. It‘s 750€ incl. 19% German VAT, I think. They‘re built to order. Steffen Marienberg handles the sales directly at steffen@marienbergdevices.de I...

Re: DIY plug-out synth

I‘m a big fan of Axoloti projects, for which I like to use an Akai MIDImix USB controller. It‘s cheap and has a lot of knobs, buttons and sliders and you can control its button LEDs independently from their usage, simply by sending MIDI commands to the controller to switch them on or off. I‘ve used ...

Re: Gotharman's SpazeDrum

Re: Post your NEW 5U Audio and Videos here

I finally managed to film a proper tutorial video for the new Marienberg VC Envelope Generator B, which is a really cool ADSR, that lets one finally adjust the slopes exactly how one wants them. No more un-snappy percussion or un-smooth sounding, long ambient attacks, etc. Tutorial: https://www.yout...
