Re: How to measure pcb test point on assembled module
One thing I like to do on through hole test point pads is to get a resistor lead and bend it in half to make a little loop and solder the ends into the test point pad, this means you can easily attach a crocodile clip to the point and don’t have to worry about holding five things at the same time wh...

Re: Serge cgs euro west coast mini synth problem (DUSG) [HELP]
What PCB are you using? Either way, the DUSG may not work properly depending on trimmer setting, so try that first. You may need to power off and on depending on how it is set as once it goes OFF it can't be trimmed back again unless you do that. Try it with trimmers in middle position and see what ...

Yes, official Serge PCB as ever - I note that the image on Modulargrid does not have the inputs to the TWS, can be seen here!

Not ‘built in’ as such, just in the panel above the VCOs. Can be used independently as a module!

The GC has a DAC for bits - which can be switch on or off - and also pots so can be used a 'normal' sequencer too, and loop etc

Another super video, and actually your description of the Rungler is very interesting in itself too as I hadn't realised how similar it was to the Gated Comparator

I've done many styles and colours - working on a black one now having done blue recently: P6360839 small.jpg Over time I did stick to the 8-row grid in the main as that is what I got asked for most often, but any excuse to break out and I like to go back to my roots!... Re: Best course of action to remove a power connector?
If the PCB is good quality you can often heat up a pin at a time (use a lot of solder on yout tip) and heat it up enough to melt the plastic around the header and push the single pin though with your tip, of course if it is not good quality it will fail big time! Lots of solder is key for heat trans...

Re: buchla 205
Thanks levelhead3! So it looks like Roman got rid of that functionality, I wonder if it could be retrofitted? The person who owns the 205 also has an original 206, which I think used the same monitor bus so I may have to do some more digging! Does any one know if the 207R allows use of the Monitor b...

Re: PCB Manufacturing in Europe?
I can recommend JLCPCB, they ship to Europe via a remailer in Luxembourg so no import VAT and customs. I always have to pay fees and duty, so this is interesting - I am in the UK but we are still in the EU (just!). I paid £20 today to DHL for a JLC order but the receipt doesn't tell my what for (I ...

Re: buchla 205
Does any one know if the 207R allows use of the Monitor bus ability of the 205 (original) and where this would be on the power header - I'm guessing this may have been where the two I2C pins for the 'e' series are now, would that make sense? Did this even use the power header to distro these signals?!

Thanks! I shall, the problem with making stuff in euro though is that everyone wants something in the tiniest footprint!

Re: Modules similar to the Doepfer A-152 but with more gate outputs?
It's in 4U, and no pictures yet! I actually made it to CV address sequencers like this one: Screenshot 2020-11-17 at 20.00.05.png In this case you can address across the 5-step and 3-step = 8-steps, but it was an idea I had since having two 152's - I wanted more, the main idea being one per envelope...

Re: Modules similar to the Doepfer A-152 but with more gate outputs?
I've just made something like that, but it is not eurorack format. Out of interest how many outputs would you want? I am considering a euro version, and well, also it would be interesting to know!

Re: How to redesign a panel without any source files or information
Lol... that’s a shame, but scanning works very well as Flareless says, once you know the height and width of the panel you can resize the scan to exact fit and place crosshairs etc in the centre of the holes, print out, overlay real panel and tweak as necessary. I guess some knowledge of graphics so...

Re: How to redesign a panel without any source files or information
I have found emailing the designer and saying "Hi, I would like to make my own panel can you help with dimensions etc" usually yields great results, just this week I was talking to Expert Sleepers about repanelling an ES-3 and they sent a useful design file almost immediately! Obviously I wouldn't s...

Yes, BP = bipolar or non polarised. I don't know why there is a + sign TBH, give it a try! I think though that as it is passing audio it needs to be 'both ways' ie passing AC

Re: help with cgs 113 VCM
Yes, you could swap 072 for 074, they are the same really! I think the BP caps whould be BP, but IIRC you can make BP caps by putting two in series? Bit foggy on that, maybe have a look around on google, or use 1uf poly?

Re: help with cgs 113 VCM
I would say:
1) 47pf if needed, yes I do that - use bits of IC socket so you can easily plug in caps as needed.
2) 100K
3) GND
4) IMO if all grounds are connected together it is fine!
