Re: Help with Polysix repair

I don't have any direct help to offer but it occurred to me that this might be useful: https://www.theanaloglab.com/interactive-repair-program basically they help you fix your synth remotely. I've never done it but sounds like you have the right tools and skills and just need help finding the exact ...

Re: Something new from Make Noise coming?

dear Make Noise: I have a shared system and a skiff full of your modules. I like them. now you made something very cool that I wish I could put into the skiff as a replacement for 2 pressure points and a brains, but you had to go and make it non-eurorack. so... no money for you.

Re: Vermona DRM-1 MKIII in the year 2020

I get the complaint that it's big. I have the same gripe about the Perfourmer. but they're worth finding a spot for because they sound so friggin' good. one benefit though is they're rack-able. sometimes it's easier to make space for vertically stacked gear... one excellent record that's literally f...

supply and demand. of course. it's just a little frustrating to see someone turn it over for a cash grab when so many wanted this thing and couldn't get their hands on it, got put on waiting lists, paid ahead and got booted from the list, etc... that said, a lot's happened in the world since this w...

regarding quality of Vermona/attention to detail: I just noticed that on both my Perfourmer and DRM1, all of the nuts on the jacks are aligned exactly the same. and all pointing "up". like this: https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images2/1/0816/17/vermona-perfourmer-mkii-keyboard_1_0acfe7fbcca0e7462...

Re: Do you reckon there will be a Sequential Pro3 Desktop module?

im surprised how many people want modules as opposed to key version. i like the immediacy of key versions. i realize they add to cost and have a bigger footprint but IMO a monosynth with a 3 octave keybed is the ideal formfactor. I mostly agree with this. but I get that I'm fortunate to have the am...

Re: Inside the Korg ARP 2600

There is more than nostalgia to be considered here. While some may feel the size difference is 'wasted space', I will contend that user interface usability is at least as important. In this case, that is an original vs now statement. But it holds even if this were an entirely new design. Like the o...

Re: Buchla 218 Grounding vs. Balance Power - Resolved!

It leaves you ungrounded. Try a wire from the grounding port to a wrist strap or similar. don't have a wrist strap but if I plug a banana cable into it and hold it or put it down my sock or something, as long as it's touching skin it's fine. but that's annoying. I'd love to find a way to tether the...

First test continuity between the Earth pin on the mains lead plug and that port. If it is already connected then you don't need to, but I suspect it is not.
it passed this test. they are indeed connected.

Re: Buchla 218 Grounding vs. Balance Power - Resolved!

You are looking at this completely the wrong way. It is nothing to do with power and buying a Furman box was a complete waste of money. The problem is between you and the Easel and the way its touch sensitive switches work. The reason it changes when you lift your feet off the floor or turn the a m...

Re: Suggestions for budget mixer with direct outs

the Mackie mixers are great value in this price range and the most flexible. mainly because you can use the Aux send/return for effects without having to lose a stereo channel (or just use them for more stereo inputs). if you just need a few direct outs, you can use the 1202 or 1402. they have inser...

have the Elektron Analog Drive and love running the Drumatix through it. cheaper than the Heat, and more fun to use. but obviously a lot less full-featured.

video below to demonstrate what's going on with mine... as can be seen in the video, it occurs when I switch both studio monitors on. if I have one on, there's a *bit* of weirdness but not much (you can see it jump notes in the video). when I turn the other one on, it goes nuts. and yes, I tried mov...

Re: I love Vermona

You can control cutoff with after touch and velocity for each voice individually, but that’s about it afaik. You have to dial in each voice if you want them to sound similar. this. and otherwise you can't control the parameters with midi CC messages. so you can't, as was proposed, use a midi contro...

For people who own the Mono Lancet or the Perfourmer - how would you characterize the filter? Is it closer to Moog or Roland or something else?
to me it's closer to Moog than Roland, but it doesn't lose as much of the low end when you turn the resonance up.

just to point out that existing machines can allready do ALOTS, yep. their more expensive offerings cover a ton of ground already, and the Model format is aimed at bringing people in at a lower price point. so I'm guessing we'll see a Models box. lots of hints that it'll be something with MnM or MD...

Re: What´s better: Macbeth M5 or Arp 2600

The 2600 is likely the most complete stand alone synth ever made in my ears. yes and no. I think on paper something like the Cwejman S1 or the M5(N) offer more, given the extra filter options. but the 2600 certainly has a mojo that those two don't. I owned an M5N for about a decade and have owned (...

Re: new Synthi inspired machine coming from Erica Synths

This is just mental gymnastics. By that logic the Behringer model D that caused so much controversy isn't a clone either because they moved it to a small desktop/eurorack compatible platform, glad we can put that to rest now too. I don't actually care too much about the ethics of cloning or if they...
