Re: Reticon: who owns the dies / intellectual property?

It's not necessarily as simple as you might think, even if the rights and designs became available - these chips were manufactured on an N-channel semiconductor process https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semiconductor_device_fabrication which, (if i recall correctly) - is no longer available at current ...

Re: Reticon: who owns the dies / intellectual property?

OK, since no one has replied to this I assume no one reading this has any direct knowledge of the legal status of Reticon, the IP etc. IANA L, so if there are any lawyers present, how would I go about finding out what the current legal status of the Reticon IP is? The only definitive thing I can fin...

Re: Reticon: who owns the dies / intellectual property?

Even if the B reissues any reticon chip they will never see any of my money which isnt a lot. Right, which is why I asked about the dies. It’s much easier to fabricate a chip if you have a die rather than having to start from zero. After all this time I doubt that they even exist anymore, but the s...

Reticon: who owns the dies / intellectual property?

So, like a lot of people I own pedals / synths / rack units that use various Reticon chips. I'm just wondering if anyone know what happened to the dies when Reticon went under and who, if anyone, currently owns the Reticon intellectual property? I would really like to see some of these chips made av...

Re: ornaments+crimes extended / polymorphic 4x16bit CV generator

I just finished building one of these, it was the full kit package from SynthCube. I've built 10 kits previously but only one of them had any SMD (twelve 0805 resistors), all of the rest were thru-hole. I took my time, spread out over 3 days, powered the module up last night and it worked perfectly...

Maybe Synthcube could do a short run of conversion panels for those of us who missed out on them? I’d definitely be up for a few.

Re: SSM2044 4-Pole Filter project

I’ve always liked the 2044. I’ll definitely be following your progress on this. Hopefully you can make the pcb “format agnostic” so it can be run from +/-12v or +/-15v and used in Euro, 4U or 5U.

Wasn't your issue with the case and not the module? oh yes, i also got a new PSU from ross lamond which greatly improved that problem. :yay: I have the same set up: an A199 and a uZeus, with a 12K+...

Re: a demo!

Here's a saxophonish demo of the waveshaper, in slightly dubious audio quality. (Sorry.) I've used a WX11 wind controller, the oscillator and filter are from a Frequency Central Product, and there's a homemade 3360-based VCA on the end. Oh my!! That sounds really nice! Is there amy chance someone c...

at the moment we do not have any updated PCB plans in the works; those will stay as is. We do hope to advance the enclosure project.. Any plans to revive the MOTM format front panel? Why not simply buy some nice wood, remove your panels, trace them onto the wood, find someone to cut it out for you, stain, add screw holes and mount them up! I know I am probably oversimplifying but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages, and never got around to it. However, I’ve been thinking ...

looks like mixingtable does, and a couple on Etsy. never understood why some people are so interested in putting wooden end-cheeks on everything. some things look great that way, others not so much. to me, the MS-20 and Juno 106 are synths that look weird with wooden end cheeks. My MS-20 has a mass...

I have sourced some neat wooden side panels for my Doepfer Dark Energy, and Roland Boutiques from a UK company called: https://www.synthsandwood.co.uk They don't list MS20 side panels, but do offer to do custom work. Thanks for the link. I looked into it and unfortunately any custom work needs a CA...

Anyone currently making wood side panels for a MS-20?

OK, I would really like to replace the side panels on my vintage MS-20 with some nice wood ones. They were being offered by a company called GMU Synth Woodworks here: https://www.gmusynth.com/collections/woodworks/products/korg-ms-20-wood-panels The guy behind this company is also on Muffs under the...

Ensoniq Mirage HxC and Mac OS?

I have an Ensoniq Mirage and I'm debating whether to sell it or keep it and install a HxC Floppy Emulator. The problem I've run into is that it looks like all of the software tools I would need to convert files to something readable by the HxC drive and the Mirage are Windows only. I'm a Mac person ...

So what is the musical application of a 90 degree phase displacement network? None that I know of. It is, however, one critical element of a Bode frequency shifter. It takes an audio signal in and puts out two audio signals whose every frequency within a certain range (in this case, the whole audio...
