Hi,

I apologize if this has been covered, I've done as much digging as I can through the knob threads! :foul:

I have a 259 with Pucks, am I able to interchange that with a Big Blue Skirted knob without having to change the pot?

Re: Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith — Mosaic of Transformation

The string sounds bother me, particularly the odd synthetic vibrato. I am not sure how she got the viola on the last track, but it does not sound like a real viola at all. The cello sound works a lot better, I think. Wondering what others think of this release! I have no clue, but immediately to my ...

it's just his execution that sometimes leaves a bit to be desired. I know this all too well because prototypes or not, those examples I listed are also sitting in my case... A personal desire then because if ever you get other non 200e Buchla format modules that accept bipolar levels you are unable...

Re: 1979 DSD: Digital Stereo Delay for Buchla systems

Whole point being that while he has some cool ideas (Drone SuperCluster!) and obviously put a whole lot of time and thought into his cool panel designs and reverse engineering/copying PCB's, he didn't take the time to fully consider how his modules would work within the Buchla operating environment...

Also...impossible to diy convert the eurorack format to Buchla with the same interface/finish as the 1979 module for $700 total cost.

So the price is right

Re: Buchla Time Machine 2050 Vedic Scapes missing board.

You could probably buy a time machine pcb from synthcube and make it work, but it would be a very complex project. From what I understand, he stopped making this one a while ago, due to the issues with him ripping off the Blacet module without any approval. Likely not the reason, still some sold on ...

Re: Decoupling Cap Position/ Type

Old nail varnish is nitrocellulose lacquer and won't actually stop moisture travel. Only slow it down. Newer nail colors are acrylic or UV acrylic which do have a better resistance to moisture. But having never seen breakdown of classic ceramic disks outside of obvious flood damage or seashore salt...

Cheap ceramic disc caps are allegedly best for decoupling. Anything grander is pointless
wrong, you know that after many years what moisture can do to ceramic disc caps.

But likely can be prevented by adding clear nail varnish over it..,never tried

I also believed it was panel *and* PCB's from the garage sale. And for me that meant the price was fine. Now seeing either neglect or intent to muddy the PCB portion, then the price does not necessarily change -see above- but the value -to me- has dropped significantly. The description is misleadin...
