It’s been so long since I built it so I can’t really help off the top of m head. But I documented my build here:

Re: Tascam Model 12 (With Midi!)
I still don’t understand why people fight this. I get why you want to record everything live, but if you record the sum , can’t you just go through it , copying the good ideas in your DAW and ignore the mistakes , if any. Well .. I guess you could. It's a shame sometimes when you improvise with sev...

Re: Tascam Model 12 (With Midi!)
Ok, I was think of sending the mix to the daw, but yeah that would take a lot of the flexibility out of the process. Still quite drawn to it though. Yes. And also I wasn't precise enough: the individual channels go into the DAW (and are recorded on the SD card) post-gain, pre-EQ, pre-fader. I bough...

Re: Tascam Model 12 (With Midi!)
I just got the larger Behringer interface (UMC1820) to futureproof myself against acquiring more gear, and now I wish I'd gone for this... very tempted to order the Model 12 and send the UMC back when it arrives. The ability to record and then playback and bounce to the daw while playing the track ...

Re: Tascam Model 12 (With Midi!)
I was wondering - how does this do with distortion? Can you resample and crank the gain/EQ and get some sweet sounds of that or does it turn into digital crackly shit? Asking because the 12 had digital EQ compared to the 16/24, but I’m probably getting the 12 either way. I'm not sure if this answer...

Re: Easel iprogram app download
I don't have an iProgram card, but I downloaded the app out of curiosity and it starts up and feels like a working app on my iPad Pro with iOS 14.2.
It might not connect to any iProgram cards -- I don't know since I don't have one.
Maybe this helps

Played live through Zoom with my Buchla
Earlier tonight I played a live gig with my 200e for a festival that had become a digital festival due to the so called "lockdown light" in Germany. I accompanied an evening with a reading and an artist talk with German author Niklas Maak. He read from his new book "Technophoria", a sci fi novel set...

Re: OPERA ROTAS, a DIY mutant drum machine BUILD THREAD
But the opera rotas is so affordable you can just build two and sync the polysynth to the drum machine.four_corners wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 2:51 pm
Ooh, that would be awesome. The bluepills are so affordable, that would be a great way to switch between firmware without having to reflash it each time.

Very portable live setup...!

Are you saying the blue buttons do not work at all ? [ for next and prev functions ] I though you had said the were working . . . If the blue buttons are working, you might want to try pushing both together but for longer than 3 seconds . . . Whatever it was -- I made it work. It was an embarrassin...

Re: Flying w/ Buchla 201e-12?
I had a bit of a near-miss horror story with my 201-12, traveling to Vienna I was fine, but on the way back they weighed the bag (I had it in a leather case with wheels) and it was a bit over the limit so the clerk asked me to check it. I refused, saying that I can’t afford to have them break it. We...

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Hello ... Regarding your Red Button problem, can I check that you have been holding it for 3 seconds to enable the menu settings ? You can also try pressing the Next and Prev blue buttons and holding down for 3 seconds. This should allow you to enter the Menu Settings. ryk I tried it and forgot to ...

Yes, the Next and Prev buttons work as they should. I just experienced a crash after sliding the play direction slider all the way to the right (play once) and back to forward — the unit hung and I had to power cycle it. The start/stop (grey) works as it should, so do Next and Previous.. Only the r...

Re: All easel functions as 200e
C'mon !!! No keyboard no Easel, you definetlly need a 223e, it's also a sequencer and a pulse generator or clock. :buchla: I’m sorry to ressurect this old (pre-corona, in a way) thread but I need to ask: How is the 223e usable as a sequencer? Arpeggiator i got, but sequencing? Please enlighten me!

So to close this thread: all of this helped — replacing thr LM7805 helped. Now the 223e works nicely in the Easel case.
Ima call it “Easel-Kai”.

I was looking at the output from the inverter and thought „I need to try that“ - tele_player spoilered it now, which sparked an idea in my head as well.
Thank you Adam for the inspiration. Todd is right, the timbres are really something!

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
These should read approx 5V. If not, then either the tracks to the diodes are not good or there is a problem with the diodes ( very rare ). Hi Ryk, I tested them and the lower end (near the edge of the PCB) read about 4.95V, the upper end reads a little under 4.5V. The continuity on the button work...

Re: Why is there no noise source in the easel?
My guess is that portable/keyboard based synthesizers was a new concept and there were no standards at the time, so noise just didn't make the cut. Don had made the 410 Module Cluster and the 212 Dodeca module which both had noise, but were missing oscillators and a sequencer. When comparing the Mi...

Why is there no noise source in the easel?
With the 208C making it more obvious, I was wondering if there is a (quirky?) quote by don Buchla about why there never was a noise source in the original Easel? (You could argue that there *is*, but let’s not get into that, as this is not the “noise” I mean to refer to...) I’m using the papz VCS3 c...
