Re: [AVAILABLE] Blacet Rak-3 Powered Case

Got my Rak-3 up and going. The build was nice and simple. It took about a half hour from opening the box to having it all together. It's really nice looking. I like the weight. I'm hoping to find a lightweight aluminum 19" case for it with side handles for a semi portable system. I'm looking forward...

Re: Are these MOTM style knobs the same?

Gerber is a great store but the parts are often very old surplus. These are MIJ probably from the 1980s. I have some from Gerber.

Re: MFOS Bipolar Wall-wart power supply

Yes, don't measure resistance on live circuits. The low resistance on the secondary can be normal for transformers so there is a good chance that there is no short and that both the transformer and power jack are fine and your problem could be elsewhere. Measure the ac voltage directly on the barrel...

Re: Can someone please show me the wiring for a passive LPF?

100K/220nF should be able to get way down to 7Hz. Just to be certain that everything is hooked up correctly, with your described wiring above, jack 1 is the input and jack 2 is the output, correct? Check the pot and cap with a multimeter to rule them out. Also, if you are using a sine or even a tria...

Re: MFOS Bipolar Wall-wart power supply

Is WW1 connected to the center, lug 1, and WW2 to the ring, lug 2?
edit: Also is the short reading with the transformer plugged in? You might want to check the resistance across the secondary of your transformer since it can read as a very low resistance.

Re: EarthQuaker Disaster Jr DELAY PEDAL WITH TAILS - HELP

I don't hear anything that I would deem abnormal for a PT2399 with a longer decay setting. I was really turned off by my first experiences with this chip but it grew on me.

Try mixing the original sound with the inverted vocoder output. It might not be so simple but it's easy enough to try out.

Thanks! I've been messing around with some scales just tuning by ear to youtube videos haha. I'm checking out that page now. Any chance you have similar resources for the rhythms you're using?

Re: Buchla 200e goes microtonal part 2

I haven't been particularly interested in microtonal tuning but this sounds very cool. Nicely done! I have no Buchla but I have a few quartertone settings on a quantizer that are going to get some deeper exploration thanks to this.

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

It's solid core wire with silicone insulation. It's really easy to work with. I was using silicone stranded wire for a while which was still nice but the solid core made getting everything where I want it easier. Keep in mind that it still takes me forever to wire it up like this but I enjoy the pro...

Just finished up the SOST. This video is low quality all around with some weird noise reduction from my tablet but I was too pleased with the first karplus sounds I made to not share them.

I'm looking for new sound, with a new kind of synthesizer; my plan is to construct the synthesizer primarily with LM3900 and BJTs, a particular methodology toward new sound.
Sounds like an interesting project. Looking forward to hearing it make some noise.

NOTE
In the PCB picture there is a red rectangle showing the RLEDs resistors , i put 1K at 5% on all of them , is that correct?
It will depend on the LED's used. 1K works pretty well with the red LED's from Tayda.

The LM4040 is the most likely culprit. Hopefully replacing it does the trick.

Re: New player here, feedback on my open-source module design?

Sorry if this is slightly off topic but what are the best diodes for precision rectifiers? I'm building one similar to the full wave one below but with 100k and 50k resistors and I'm getting bandwidth issues past 1k and it gets pretty rough at 10k. I used 1N5817. The opamp is TL072. https://circuitd...
