Has anyone tried a DIY build of this? Cost wise its a bit out of my reach at the moment but would love to try a crude recreation of it if possible !
I was wondering the same. If I had detailed pics, I might be able to figure out what parts (or similar) to order and make it.

Re: Definitive "how to multitrack record your Eurorack"

I use Nw2s modules into an Antelope Orion 32+ Connect using DB25. I have no issues with the DB25 as these are permanently connected. This gives me 32 channels in which I have as 16 mono and 8 stereo. This goes through optical thunderbolt into the Mac. Works great. The Antelope is really nice but ha...

Re: Definitive "how to multitrack record your Eurorack"

As my modular grew, I saw this happening as well. I ended up getting a Tascam Model 24. I found this to be the best solution for my workflow. This sort of anecdote isn’t all that interesting unless you take the time to explain why it’s a distinctively good solution (for you), and maybe offer some p...

Re: BEGINNERS - What have you always found to be poorly explained?

As a perpetual beginner I believe the onus is on me to educate myself. If someone doesn't explain something in a way that makes sense to me I'll look for a different explanation somewhere else. None of this is secret, especially around here where people are so generous with their knowledge. This is...

Re: Frap Tools USTA

It's brilliant at percussion sequencing actually, the ratcheting behaviour, probability, variable stage lengths per track make it a techno monster. Two CV's per track are also very useful for sound design, velocity, controlling envelope times per stage, then the stage loop function with the new pat...

From SOMA today: 2165, probably fall-winter 2020, maybe sooner, the list is very dynamic and possibly our other factory will help us soon.

Re: Something new from Soma

I just found out about this and I’m in love with that sound. I signed up for one. I’d be curious how it would sound through a rainmaker. Is there a DIY option? I haven't heard of any DIY options from SOMA , but someone earlier in this thread mentioned that may become available. EDIT: someone later ...

I believe William S Borroughs documented his experience with a Feraliminal Lycanthropizer. The idea of the machine always fascinated me. here's a link, but i wasn't able to ever find tech specs on it. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/696235/posts Edit: i also heard from a friend that Meat Beat...

We will need to have a new cover, as we don't have permission to create a new one.
:hmm:
Ya, that was a brain fart. I was excited. We will need a new cover. AND I think we've got that solved.
I can make you one! I’d love to do that. I’ll even do it for free

Re: How Many Outputs Do You Use?

I have 2 dedicated quad vca’s for stereo modules. And sometimes I just run effects modules direct into dedicated mixer channels ( like a rainmaker)
In all, I have 8 to 10 mixer channels fed by vca’s at any given time. I struggled with routing for the longest time until I got a capable mixer.

Re: Tascam Model 24 Mutlitrack Recorder and Mixer

Did not realize that the Model 12 had MIDI capability. That was a major sticking point with me with Model 24 and Model 16 You’d think a firmware update could add MIDI. Unless there is a difference in the hardware that would allow for it. As an aside, I still owe someone on this thread a how-to w/ c...
