Re: Secret weapon processing (plugins/hardware)

For Ambient stuff, I record what I'm playing multiplying two or four times the master clock and lfos, and I tune the oscillators one or two octaves higher. I then record everything on my Tascam mk3 and I play it at half speed or lower. Then Quadraverb. Everything becomes warm and alive : Reaper is ...

Re: Eurorack Saturation

Check out the Black Market Colour Palette as well - you can use the same color circuits that they use in the 500 series stuff. There are a bunch of separate circuits you can swap in and out you can get a hold of - API/Neve/SSL flavors with transformers and things. There's a few Colours with subminia...

Have you considered the Happy Nerding FX Aid?
Also Spin FV-1 based, but yes, there are a lot of expensive and well regarded guitar pedals that use the Spin FV-1 too - Chase Bliss, DroloFX, Red Panda.

Re: Reverb module for techno kick

Dreadbox Splash is another reverb that I feel sounds really good for this. Maybe consider an Afterneath as well?

Either way I agree with the posters above that the shaping from EQ and compression afterwards is probably more important than which specific reverb you use.

I advise that you continue to engage with subject matter experts, consult eurorack thought leaders, and aggregate those learnings. Once you have actionable analytics, create buy-in with domestic budgetary stakeholders. If the financials make sense, partner with a eurorack vendor whose core competenc...

Re: ES-8 inputs - DC offset?

The thing they normally add onto soundcards to fix this is the thing that prevents normal soundcards from sending or receiving control voltage. If you're using it for audio you could put a little highpass filter at 1hz in your DAW channel and then disable it if you want to record control voltage.

Will it sync to Ableton Link inside of AUM? I couldn't find any reference to Link anywhere in the manual or the app.

Re: Beepstreet Drambo *RELEASED*

Spent an evening with the ipad hooked up to the modular with an ES-8 - tons of fun just recording modular bits and loops into the flexi sampler and mangling them up. The interface is really great and well thought out too. It's pretty much everything I would ever use an Octatrack for in a much friend...

Nave really is hugely underrated. Besides if you program a bunch of Nave patches you like, if you eventually decide to get a Quantum you can load them straight in.

Idea for version 2 of this module: three bigger pots on top and 6 jacks on bottom. The aesthetics would suffer but it would be so much easier to wiggle in dense feedback patches. You could try this module: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/dpw-design-limit-l-1-triple-limiter Not sure if it's exactly th...

This sounded like a fun exercise. I'd try something granular. I started with a recording of a VCV rack patch with all sorts of oscillators tuned inharmonically with ring modulators all over the place (first part of the clip below). I put the clip into a granular VST with a very small amount of rando...

You could probably kludge something together with a VST envelope follower that outputs midi like InsertPizHere's AudioToCC. You'd have to offset so it's only positive CV and turn the slew time all the way down. Other than that, most of the alternatives I can think of are both more expensive and wors...

True. I’m not sure what mixer I should go with though. Besides that do you think this covers my bases for a primarily percussion focused setup? Yeah, looks good. I would say that a small cheap sequencer like a Ladik S-142 might open up a lot of options as well, but I think there's a mode in Peaks t...

I would suggest considering a Tiptop One as a noise source and alternative to Quantum Rainbow - used I think they're in the same ballpark for price. I have a Tiptop One that I use primarily as a noise source and I usually run it into Skis for hats. I loaded it up with an SD card loaded with all kind...

I have not tried them as final outs, but I suspect it would work as well anything else. The CTX colour is definitely subtle, but you can really crank the gain on it for some noticeable saturation. If you're interested in a final out for euro, I'd also keep an eye out for the Mannequins RIP which is ...
