Re: Re-release (and use) of Cwejman S1 MKii in 2019

one final point from me on the Cwejman S1. the only thing about it that is a minor irritation, excluding the potetial issues regarding repair which have been discussed previously in this post, The S1 does need some kind of rack mount housing or other stable thing to sit it.. it can't be placed flat ...

Im not familiar with the 999. i used an 888 for a day, so, ill just make a vauge assumption that, its in the same ball park as the Alpha Base(?) Glad you're about to use it in that scenario.. I agree that, performing with a drummachine is the primary function for the thing to exist.. I guess this al...

Im curious to know if anyone here uses an Alpha Base as the drum machine in their live setup? purely as the machine is, without driving it from some other device or midi from Ableton or so. im talking about standalone jamming. live editing of the sounds (to whatever extent).. some action. rather tha...

yeah.. my interest in the AB came about after using that new behringer 808 clone for a few weeks. the Berhringer sounds like an 808 clone and is unremarkable, but it was the first time in years that i had used a simple XOX style interface drummachine.. beyond the Elektron RYTM which i have. despite ...

Yes.
I have no gripes against Jomox, the guy who runs it, or the machine itself. it's just sadly, not suitable for me... despite me wishing and wanting it to be.

hi. it was 1.40 i looked at the jomox site after opening the thing to see if it needed to be updated. it appeared to be current. the last OS update appears to be from 2018. but even if an OS update did correct it, it would sadly not be enough of an improvement to make the box appealing for my needs....

its possible that the flam + PLock features do work some how on my unit, but after reading the 2 page print out instructions that came with the thing, and failing to get these 2 features happening, then downloading the PDF manual and reading the more detailed instructions, the Flam instructions now ...

Opinion on Alpha Base

Hello. After scrutinising as many videos on the alpha base as i could and not really getting a solid idea of its User Interface workings, i finally had an opportunity to use one for a few hours in a studio, with the User manual at hand. my conclusion was sadly, Whilst it sounds quite good, it is let...

i spent a few hours with one of these tasty chips things. the box itself feels solid enough and the large display is great for waveform viewing but the modulation potential of the available parameters on the box arent that comprehensive so, if you're looking for something deep as a sound design tool...

Sequential Prophet X series. Any Owners?

Hello I just spent a few hours at my local pro audio shop doing a deep dive into the Prophet X synth. I own a few DSI synths and am a fan and wanted to check the X out.. sadly, ive come away wondering about the X as it seems to be lacking most of the features i loved from the Pro 2 / Prophet.. it se...

as always with questions like this, it depends more on the individual than the tool. but having owned one for almost a decade, i would say it's the single best analog mono synth in my own experience. it's precision is the the thing almost everyone agrees about. it really is exactly a precision instr...

thanks. i saw that AMSYNTHS module after initially posting this and sent the guy an email. lets see what he says... the dedicated BPF on the SH-5 sounds noticeably different and i think far superior to the BPF mode on the other multimode filter of the SH-5.. hence my curiosity of whats out there on ...

Roland SH-5 Band Pass Filter - eurorack equivalent?

Hello Ive just picked up a Roland SH-5 synth. it has a very good Bandpass Filter. a standalone part of the signal flow of the synthesiser, not the Band Pass mode of the larger multimode filter .. the seperate BP filter underneath that on the front panel.. Does anyone know what type / kind / whatever...

hey i have a similar tale to the one mentioned by the post above. My S1 synth died, seemingly due to a power issue. my local experienced audio technician said he's unable to look at it without a schematic. the old cwejman.net site which looks abandoned has links to email addresses that bounce.. i sp...
