Their website says that they "don’t work on keyboards under 25 years old," but I will email them. Thanks for the suggestion.

Korg MS2000 Repair

Sadly, I broke my MS2000R recently when I assumed that the third-party power supply I was using was auto-switching between 110 VAC and 220 VAC. It wasn't… I rely heavily on this synth, so I need to have it repaired. Korg has a list of authorized service centers on their website but I am not familiar...

I came across the Telharfauxnium firmware yesterday but didn't find any documentation, so I wrote a little description based on what I read in this thread and a quick look at the code: https://github.com/TomWhitwell/RadioMusic/wiki/Alternative-firmware-for-Radio-Music One thing I noticed is that sin...

The led removal is tricky. . Must be very careful! . First, remove the ring on the back of the panel that holds the led In. I used a small pair of needle nose and wiggled it until it came off. Once the ring is off, you will see the back of the led is held in by the 4 little tabs. . Gently push on t...

I find having the scope immensely useful. I use it for many different things: How far is a varying control voltage swinging? How is this filter or distortion affecting the signal? What is the voltage of the triggers coming from a clock or sequencer? I started with the Seeed DSO Nano v3, which is gre...

I picked up an MPC 2000 for short money a couple of years ago, but sadly I haven't done anything with it. The LCD in mine is flaky and I think there's a problem with the disk drive. You may have inspired me to pick up this project again… I was thinking that the disk drive in my MPC 20...

MOTU made a synth plugin called MX4 that has all those features. I like it a lot. It's very deep. Three wavetable oscillators, six LFOs, four EGs, an extremely flexible modulation matrix, and all the parameters can be automated in the DAW.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't really know the music software environment so it is hard for me to navigate all the tools. So far I am missing a free option for Windows. Ardour which does look good is Linux and Mac only. It does need to be an automatic command rather than a manual cut-and-paste...

You could do this in nearly any multitrack MIDI sequencer program, though not all of them will have an automatic command for it. Ardour is a free option (ardour.org). There's another one similar to Ardour, but I can't remember the name. Google should help. I use Digital Performer, which has a Split ...

One cool thing about the unitor8 and I think the only real advantage over the amt8, unless you have some legacy time code need, is that it supports foot switch or click (tip and ring!) input making it hop, skip and a leap to interface with a modular in a lot of neat ways. (You can configure what MI...

When you swap the audio cables that connect the mixer outputs to the monitors' inputs at one end only, does the problem move from one side to the other? Volts and amps are two different things: Voltage is a measurement of difference in electric potential. Amperage is a measurement of electric current.

Cuemix acts strange and sometimes it simply will not open, it will tell me that audio is in use or something like that. CueMix FX will always open, even if another program is using the interface. MOTU Audio Console will not open if another program has control of the interface. Once I can finally ge...

Also...When I try to use the Cuemix software and use any of the slides to adjust the channels, they sliders snap back to zero. Something that suggests that I have something set up wrong. This can happen if the interface is not synchronized to the selected clock source. The front panel sample rate i...

It's not possible to tell without knowing how they're wired. If XLR pins 2 and 3 are both connected to TS tip, then they won't work. You want pin 2 connected to tip and pin 1 connected to sleeve.
