Re: performer (or is it per|former?) sequencer build

Yes, you need to power the Performer, impossible to upload bootloader or firmware without power. I've also had that message when I've had the jtag connector the wrong way round. How are you connecting from the ST Link to jtag? I paid for one of the olimex adapters having had problems trying to bodge...

No problem using tap water here in the UK, I've even been in hard water area's and have no issue.
I just use a soft toothbrush and warm water.

Re: Modding a Lexicon Vortex for less noise - worth it?

Schematics are posted all over; just run a google search for “lexicon vortex service manual.” Someone else here on Muff’s has an encoder repair kit for sale, but I forget their user name. I've downloaded a couple of different versions of the Service Manual, but didn't see a proper schematic, even t...

Re: Modding a Lexicon Vortex for less noise - worth it?

I've still got a Vortex, it has some quirky charm.
Very interested to hear about mods, and would love to get a copy of the schematic if anybody has it.
I also need to hunt down a replacement encoder.

Anybody has been questioning why Moog don't use the Xvive in a new batch MF-104M...?
They've discontinued all of the Moogerfoogers.

Re: Approx. price to pay someone to build RYO Paths?

It's a simple enough build, but it is a densely packed 3 pcb set.
I'd estimate it's going to take around 3-4 hours to build, can't remember if it needs calibration.
What's the standard hourly rate for a reputable module builder ?

Looks the same as the PCB in my build.
I used the attached BOM from 3/6/2014 Yes it's V2, is there any documented difference between a V1 ?

I attenuate the input signal if it's Euro level OSC's going into any of the R*S Serge Filters.
Then they sound amazing and behave much better.

Can't help with people having issues, but I can only agree with those praising the State 700 VCF.
It sounds glorious to me, I have many many Filters, and this is right up there.

The Rise and Fall Trimmers are to set the Center point of the Rise and Fall CV Attenuators.
Most often just needed to be kept near the middle of the trimmers rotation.

I've built up three working Miasma's with the ST TL074's from Tayda, so it's not inherently them.

I was about to chime in regarding headphone noise, saying I'd not experienced any. However, a friend just did a socially distant recording session, and she had issues with her headphones, which were not apparent with any of mine. This leads me think it might be an impedance issue ?

What USB connectors would be the most durable solution to use in peoples opinion ?
Looking for something that is able to be securely screwed into the enclosure, as opposed to just using a dangling cable.
It's the last missing piece of the jigsaw.

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode

Hey Ryk, Issue wasn't during the soldering process. What happened to me was that I'd soldered everything in, and was turning the PCB over to go onto install the LED's and one of the slider switches was all wonky, as I say it was already soldered in place, and flush with the PCB. The thing is, the to...

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode

Hey RYK, Thank you for making this beast available. IMG_20200502_123626.jpg It's a nice build. Only thing I'd say to prospective builders is not to have too much sideways motion on your bench once the sliders are soldered, as the handles seem to be able to lift away from the base relatively easily.

Re: DX-style Operator (Thru-Zero FM/PM oscillator - FM Ogre)

Yes, there is a way to troubleshoot it, but not from the info you've provided.
You'd need a DMM, or maybe a scope with probes.

Another way to solicit help would be to upload hi res pictures of all sides of all pcb's.

Re: FM Ogre problems

If it's purchased you might want to talk to the seller. Ask them if they even programmed the chip, or if it was pre flashed when they purchased the PCB.
Do you have any high res pictures of both sides of the pcb's ?
