Re: NLC Triple Sloth

I built one one of these recently and encountered no problems except with the inertia section. Below is the X output graph I managed to record with a software scope. Unfortunately I don't have access to a proper oscilloscope. The X output jumps between -10 V and +11 V, the Y output moves between -/...

Re: NLC's A Plague of Demons

I was a bit let down by the PoD FM capabilities when I had one. Or maybe it was just too much cranking everything to the max? I felt there was a kind of samey sound that was hard to escape no matter what modulator pitch settings were involved. A ton of waveform outs was useful though :tu: There are...

sounds a bit too "pretty" for an NLC module! but looks great!
:hihi: Yep I almost cancelled it as too subtle, but after some playing around decided it is quite a fun module.

Re: NLC nonlinearcircuits 2018 modules

On the dual LPG, the two 10uF caps are for decoupling, so you can use whatever you have. Tho mounting thru-hole parts on smd pads can be risky as the pads may lift if you bump the component. btw - It was pointed out to me on Friday, there is an error in the BOM for the on-off-on switches. The ones l...

Re: nonlinearcircuits NLC 2020 modules

NLC modules are Ace! I just wondered if there ever will be a NLCdusg kinda thing.... I did do a PCB of the based on the Korg PS3200 EG....maybe 8 or 9 years ago, which has almost the same core as half a DUSG. Can't remember what happened to it, must be in a box somewhere, needed some tweaks anyway....

Re: Alternate Front Panels: Get Permission?

regarding the longevity of PCB panels - Driscoll modular synths used PCB panels and were made in the late 70s, so 40+ years old. Still look great and PCBs were not as good quality back then compared to what we get now. https://www.matrixsynth.com/2005/09/driscoll-modular.html btw - what do you mean ...

Prob worth joining the NLC builder's guild, assuming you can endure FB -

New builders are most welcome and any questions are fine. We were all beginners at one point.

Re: Alternate Front Panels: Get Permission?

I really like it when people make their own panels for NLC modules, that is why the panel templates are always posted on the website next to the build guides. If you want to make them to sell, like the Magpie panels or Clarke panels, that is good too. If they look nice, I'm sure some people will be ...

Re: NLC Cellular Automata question

The CA patterns need a seed to start them off, the way the patterns evolve depend on the frequency and input of the seed signals. Without any seeds the CA patterns will eventually reach their conclusion and halt. There are 4 seed inputs, one on each corner. The idea is to link up 2 or more CA module...

Puts out a CV in response to lights and movement in the room. The one you can see was a very rough proto-type.
