Re: Patching the modular in semi permanent way?
I record mostly everything I do on the 9U modular, and use the sounds in DAW based compositions and tracks I release. I tear down once I’ve recorded and feel I’ve exhausted the current patch. It rarely takes more than 15 mins to develop an interesting starting point for a new patch with 9U. What is ...

Re: Oberheim Matrix 1000 - volume knob issue
...throwing out the old power supply and replace it with a switcher. All the info for that is around the usual forums... I don’t have any acoustic noise problems on my Matrix 1000 power supply, but the audio output has low but noticeable hums in harmonics of the mains supply (50hz, 100hz, 200 and u...

Re: Cwejman owners, current or past
Differences between Cwejman construction and some cheaper modules: The back is a PCB with little or no metal exposed, protecting the components from accidental damage or short circuits from stray things in cases. Minijack sockets (same as Orthogonal devices) are very solid and do not have any flex o...

Re: Sequencing doubt: programmed, improvised or both?
I don’t know enough about your chosen sequencers but the general concept of a programmable sequencer + small and simple sequencer’s CV output combined with a precision adder will give you repeatability with controlled and/or randomised variation. If you haven’t seen it, there’s a video by Mylar melo...

Re: Cwejman owners, current or past
1. Yes, I had a VCO2RM and still have a RES4 and S1 MK2 2. The VCO2RM was sold to fund the S1 when my turn came on the waiting list. There’s sufficient overlap and function for me personally not to need both, I have digital oscillators and other patchable analogue synths 3. Feel is great, layout and...

Re: Check out my rack!
I'm not opposed to an oscillator though- any pairings you recommend, anything think would sound good with the hoopla in my rack? A Loquelic Iteritas is another interesting digital oscillator, but the Synthesis Technology oscillator would be great here I think. I guess you have to decide if you real...

Has anybody got an unchanging Euro modular?
Seems unlikely but is there anyone with a stable Eurorack setup from multiple manufacturers that they like to make music with who hasn’t changed/swapped/added to/sold bits for a long while? Mine is always changing a little, seems the nature of the beast. We see lots of modular grid ‘fantasy racks’ b...

Re: What sparked your entry into eurorack?
Buying an MC202 modded with loads of minijacks at the same time as starting a reasonable well paid job.
‘I’ll just get some euro to play with my 202, thats all’
‘Those EMS synthi modules look nice....’
Yeah, right.

Why do you want to send single cycle waveforms from Ableton instead of buying an oscillator for your rack? Would be much more flexible

Re: "Downsizing"
I’ve deliberately removed Maths from my rack, just to see what its like. I’m not missing it enough to put it back yet. I sold a Cwejman oscillator and a Verbos Random. I’m not missing them either, I just make different sounds without them. I did have some overlapping features in my modules. I’m tryi...

Re: How Do I Choose A New Interface?
no personal experience but the criticism levelled at Antelope by someone I respect working professionally is that their drivers are picky, slow to arrive and not so stable. if you need all those ins and outs it might be a good choice but do your homework is all I would say.

Re: Behringer 2600
If they had to use a digital reverb, how about a DSP running a convolution reverb using impulses with the original 2600 spring reverb, and a push button to cycle through some other spring reverbs, and a few classic plate reverbs while they were at it? Sounds costly to develop, at least in Behringer...

Central, AKA FCUK for DIY, SystemX are 100M clones, and generally well regarded. Their 140, commonly called "the snappiest EG in Eurorack" are especially well liked. Can be had fully assembled, as kits, or with a bit of looking, as self-sourced fully DIY using toner transfer PCBs. Something for eve...

Sorry I didn’t fully explain my thought. A used 19 inch multi fx unit costs less than 100 of whatever currency. Not sure you can get a useful euro module for that, and case space costs too.
