Re: Best square wave VCO?

Jumping in here I'm looking for an appropriate oscillator with a tight square out and hard sync for this type of ratchetting:

Re: Moving into 5U advice and questions

If you live in a place with a happening modular community your best plan would be to attend events, meet people, and try and get a little hands-on experience before you start dropping cash. Pre- (and hopefully post-) pandemic Seattle had a monthly "open mic" evening dedicated to modular performance...

Re: Starting a 'modular with a Cwejman S1 M2

Came across this old thread. So the A4 is now gone, replaced with the S1.. If I had of bought the S1 initially I would have had an investment. A4 never really grew to be loved. Didn't quite gel with the sound of oscillators. Amazing FM though.. Still getting to know the S1, early days but is certain...

Re: sequential switch?

In this example, the 'ratchet' action would more properly be called triplets. And doesn't actually require the sequential switch. Steps 5,6,7 are played at a fast rate compared to the others. This action repeats for each row. The sequential switch on the right has LEDs you can see moving downwards ...

best SOUNDING signal path MODULES

Hi, I haven't seen much discussion of the sound quality of audio routing in eurorack or modular? Being a live sound engineer and studio nerd this is very important for me. I'm about to pull the trigger on a small eurorack kit for the first time, predominantly utility modules, a sequencer, noise sour...

Re: Which module controls do you tweak the most?

I guess I tweak a lot of controls but they are mostly with controllers. I started using a lot of foot pedals to control various things recently in real time: VC LFO speeds, VCF freq. (of course), VCA response, complex VCO timbre and symmetry (slow pedal spread mixed w/ sequencer control). I also li...

Roland 184 CV

Hi

Can anyone explain to me how the 184 operates. Eg if I only have one CV/Gate patched out of it does it just 'play monophonically, if I patch two it becomes duophonic, three triophonic, and all four 'four voice?

Thanks in advance

I've never heard of any situation where it's recommended to sum two signals into one without a mixer. As such no off the shelf cable will do it. And generally speaking DI's are more designed for impedance balancing signal from guitar pickups than outputs from synths and line ouputs. But they do work...

The Al Jourgensen vocal sound?[/b] Yeah, you take a [dbx] 160 and turn the threshold all the way off, then you turn the ratio all the way down so there's no compression at all, and then turn the output all the way up to where it distorts. Then you send it to another 160, or any other [compressor] - ...

So... someone has got to be using one of these as a phaser?? Flip polarity on one or two bands and modulate the cutoff?

Haven't got one but after reading - seemed an obvious application for a neat unit!

o i'm starting to lean towards one of these now, built-in sequencer, limited run so won't devalue (?), an i like the sound it makes on the internet.

Starting a 'modular with a Cwejman S1 M2

Hey I'm new to the forum today. I want an analog patchable synth, in current production, with the ability to add modules down the track. The cwejman s1 has caught my ear.. Any objections, suggestions, or advice? I currently have a Radikal Technologies Spectralis 2, a Trax Rota-1, a Marsynth Heartbre...
