Re: Utility filters...

:tu: Moog had simple non-VC HP and LP filters for good reason. Behringer took the filters and made them his own: 11E85E93-4F7D-48DE-AA08-06BD435B95B5.jpeg Interesting. I like the graduated labelling (why don't all manufacturers do that? :despair: ). Doesn't seem to have reached the UK yet though. I...

Re: Scared newbie about ribbon cables

With notched headers, it is important to make sure that the same wire—typically red—is correctly connected at both the modular and the enclosure power strip. Rarely, you may find a cable that is incorrectly keyed at one end. If so, you can sand off a key, but you need to make sure that you have the ...

Re: Eurorack RACKS (Information on the Racks)

Some Ace hardware stores do carry metric screws, including M3 and M2.5, but I’ve heard from others on this forum that some stores do not carry metric screws. Unfortunately, the store by my house will only sell them by the piece, and cost for one screw is outrageous: 20-30 cents if memory is correct!

Re: Eurorack RACKS (Information on the Racks)

Hi James, I don't have a Moog case, but rather the Behringer counterpart -- which appears to be an outright clone -- but without having a Moog case, I can't claim that with 100% certainty. In any case, I am using the following with my case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0714FLXND/ref=ppx_yo_dt...

Michigan Synth Works sells a clone of one half of a Syncussion for Eurorack. Also, Subconscious Communications has announced a version of one with extras including distortion; however, it is not yet in production.

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

So, I just bought Erica Cymbals, and had read earlier in this thread about issues with accents. I’m not seeing any problem at all, it works just like you’d expect. I didn’t mess with the trimmers, the screw slots of both were straight vertical, FWIW. There’s also a jumper for accent ext/int- that m...

Re: ableton live output Din sync?

Kenton D-Sync Bi-Directional MIDI to DIN Sync Converter: Perfect Circuit Audio has them for $85. The ALM cables are around $11. A long time ago, I had the first version of PW, and I do not remember having any problems with syncing it to Ableton. I had Ableton set as the master clock. In fact, I’m no...

Re: ableton live output Din sync?

Kenton makes a MIDI to DIN SYNC converter that can go either way. I use it with Ableton and have had no problems.

Alms makes a DIN SYNC to clock and run cable for easy conversion.

Re: 104hp Drum Synth Starter

The difference between the ADDAC 103 and 104 is that the first one has knobs to adjust pitch and the second one has CV inputs to adjust pitch. Both seem to focus on toms, clicks, clavs, etc. While it can do kicks, there seems to be better options. Personally, I’d like to see a more extensive demo be...

Re: 104hp Drum Synth Starter

The Metron has a mute mode that is easy to use. It also has memory and features much longer tracks than the CR. The CR defaults to eight steps per track, and if I remember correctly, if you go to 16 steps, then you lose half your tracks. Again, I could be wrong, so check. As for voices, you need to ...

What do you guys think? Fun to play, but also some tweaking possibilities in here? https://cdn.modulargrid.net/img/racks/modulargrid_1249557.jpg Given your sequencer and sampler module, I really do not see a need for the PM. You already have everything covered. In addition, you probably do not need...

Re: Sooooo frustrated with threaded strips

I find it is easier to use sliding nuts with enclosures that sit horizontally. A few helpful installation hints are listed below: Store a few extra nuts between each module, as others have noted, so you can add a module in the middle of a row. Use a small awl or punch to align the nut with its mount...

Re: Mt first Eurorack! Advice plsss

I would argue against buying an open rack unless you are going to install it in a bigger enclosed rack. You’ll soon grow tired of ribbon cables hanging about. Moog, Behringer, and other manufacturers make racks that are fully enclosed. In Australia, Elby Designs sells 3U enclosures and racks. They a...

Re: Introducing the Accord Melisma Chord Module!

Today it worked for several hours and then a wrong note would be played. I powered everything down and came back later in the day. At first, the sequence seemed to transpose up and down, so I adjusted the GATE DELAY. That seem to stabilize playback; however, a note would occasionally be played half...

Re: Favorite Quad Oscillator?

Don't write-off the Instruo Troika because it has only 3 oscillators. You have the fourth sitting in your rack probably already... All four voices should be matched; otherwise, chords will not sound right, especially if your MIDI interface uses a round robin approach to swap voices in and out. (If ...

Re: Overly-focussed setups

Since PODs and the Moog enclosures have come out, I have been increasingly breaking down my system into smaller instruments FX, control, utility racks, etc. I actually prefer working with a limited pallet. Plus, I can add or remove enclosures as needed. Since I am currently reorganizing my work area...

Don’t sell the Juno 106. While those modules are nice, they are digital and will age quickly with advancements in technology.

I have been using a Copper Traces Seek to change the root chord, and occasionally, the pattern deviates from normal as if a wrong note has been sent. * Like almost every Euro case I've owned, it also needs more power headers. That 6hp space is empty because I ran out of connectors. Time to get the crimpers out again. It's not as if I'm using tons of tiny modules... Do you just not like the idea of using a flying bus to expand? Or does it not fit...
