Re: Behringer Swing

But we can all agree the brostep isn't a counterfeit right? They haven't put the Behringiner name on it... Did Uli actually break in to Arturia HQ and steal the CAD drawings for the Keystep? Did the Chinese factory that made the Arturia keystep retain copies of the CAD files and then pass them on to...

Re: Behringer 2600

yes... that reverb stinks...they could have stuck a bbd delay in with some mod inputs... that would have enhanced the sound palette, avoided the cost of a real spring tank (which is apparently why they went digital verb) and kept it all analog...

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

Yes embodied energy assessments are done all the time. In some specific cases they can be useful for guiding policy, at other times they are not worth the paper and energy they use to produce them... Re: Mounting 3U modules in 1U

I suppose the other bracket should be there to support the other panel edge, since the single screw 8HP modules still have the rail behind the panel to add support when plugging in patch cords. A change in design would be to make the mounting surface (part with the screw holes for the modules) span...

Yes the rails of the 1U have been removed from the case... and it looks like an 8HP panel fits, Good point, a single one of those ADDAC adaptors might work, for mounting the ES3 using just the single mounting holes --wouldn't work for mounting 2 4hp ES6's though... but worth a punt... thanks for the...

Uli Behringer tucks his t-shirts in and wears a belt with them. Ask yourself, what sort of monster does such a thing...? Have you seen how the youngsters dress these days? That is the height of fashionable... with a fanny-pack worn across the shoulder... and sandals and socks... irony becomes tragedy

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

apropos Fromm?? A much better reference in relation to business ethics would be Milton Friedman, 'Businesses have no business being ethical' and I say that as a pretty hardline marxist materialist, because whenever a business talks about ethics they are lying! Nike doesn't hire kæpernik for any ethi...

So how many hours in the day, do people imagine, Uli works? It is a big company, he may have not had anything personally to do with 'swing'. Of course he bears responsibility for setting a tone in the company and for allowing it to continue. And for hiring people that would behave like that... He ma...

As I alluded to earlier, I would say they are not aiming at western markets, but developing markets in which they already have a much stronger distribution network than competitors like Arturia. Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

The Fromm is an interesting read but... debatable First a debate about stages of Capitalism has to be geographically circumscribed otherwise it does not make sense. The usual context is England, but Holland or the NE US would be similar. 17/18 century capitalism was not society-minded! Instead it wa...

Re: New AKAI "FORCE" standalone MPC / grid controller

Push standalone would be a big jump for Ableton . similar to the NI Maschine evolution... they should at least start with a built in soundcard so one cable from computer to Push handles: control, midi and audio. then they need to make it so that you can access ALL Live functions from the Push, and t...

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

I guess the heart of the controversy is that 'moral outrage' is such a subjective feeling. If one IS outraged then anyone who is not, appears despicable. If one is not outraged then the outraged appear ridiculous. I am, I admit in a state of almost perpetual outrage, about almost everything. So I mu...

Lot more money to be made in cloning watches and handbags... so Uli is not soley motivated by money alone. He seems to have some strange animus toward the music instrument industry.
